Man-At-Arms... First Release or Reissue? Can you tell by the white box?

I got three MAA's in the mail, but the boxes dont have his name printed on them. Without breaking the tape and opening the white mailer boxes... is there a way to tell if they are 1st Release or Reissues?

Or are the boxes for both the same?

I'm pretty sure the mailer boxes are all the same. I think you're going to have to cut the tape.

Actually, it's quite easy to tell since MAA's first release had no mailer at all.

Needless to say if you have MAA in a mailer and the last two digits on the bottom right hand corner are 15 it's the re-issue guaranteed.

Wow. I totally forgot about the figures not coming in mailers for the first little while. You are very correct sir.

They still come without mailers is they are the first editions, I ordered a Hordak from the essentials a couple months ago, and turned out to be a non mailer original in the box. So, yeah MAA re-issues come in mailers....both of mine did, and that was from last years BF/CM sale.

I have wondered that too when you see online retailers offering Man-At-Arms (and various others) "original release" for like 20 bucks more than re-issues.

I didnt come into collecting this until....August of 2009 - ish. SO I didnt know about the no white mailer boxes on the first figs.

Yep... Just FYI - Tri Klops & He-Ro (July 2009) were the first "original run" figure to have the white mailer boxes.
The assortment number in the lower right hand corner indicates the figure inside.
The figure names did not appear on the white mailer box until Adora (Jan 2010)
Zodac is the only figure so far to not have a white mailer box period.
