New Bios

I like these bios. I don't mind them killing off a few characters. It is a battle. People die. Its not like these bios are set in stone. They are the MOTU Classics storyline, not the MOTU bible. Let's face it, the story changes from the mini comics, to filmation, etc. I like where they went with castle grayskullman and sy-chop. I don't think they made castle grayskullman too powerful. He's a magic spell that helped the ranks of the masters. I didn't say he killed all of the horde and the snakemen and then became king of all eternia. Mosquitor can be stupid. Not every character has to be a super genius.

Something just occurred to me as I read the Snake Men bio. It talks about how the Unnamed one assigned several battalions of foot soilders to King Hsss. That leads me to believe that there may be other groups of Snake Men we haven't seen before. Maybe another team of snake men, led by....

This bio sucks! Rattlor joining the Horde because he got demoted? NO WAY!! Rattlor and Tung Lashor only joined the Horde in the original mini-comics because they had no choice. There's no way MYP Rattlor would join the Horde, particularly since they are clearly using the MYP Rattlor. That version was fanatically loyal to King Hsss.

If anything they should have used that opportunity to state that Rattlor got Kobra Khan demoted and Khan went back to the Evil Warriors.

That bio shows a lack of understanding for the character, in my opinion.

I HATE this part SO MUCH!
The Snakemen should NEVER be part of the Horde. The only reason I'd accept this would be mind control (like the bios of Leech and Grizzlor state).
The MYP Rattlor would never join the Horde. He's way too loyal. Of course his demotion would crush him, but this wouldn't make him join Hordak. He should swear revenge to Khan and eventually get it.
Also he already was called "The General" when commanding Hiss' troops!

Give us his MYP harness Mattel!

Personally, I think the bio is good for one reason: it opens the door to get MYP Rattlor.

I think we should get some support for that.

Most definately! MYP made Rattlor one of the best characters of Motu in my opinion. And that statement bears quite some weight, considering that his vintage figure was my very first action figure! And definately one of my favourites.
A MOTUC version of "The General" would need his chest harness, attachable armour for his forearms and shins (maybe reused from Vykron if the'd work) and maybe a new head.

A question is, do I make a new thread for The General or just campaign/speculate about him in the 200X Variants thread?

If there isn't one for him already, I'd say go create one! It might have a bigger chance to make this figure happen

kobra kahn in myp if i remember right was looked down upon by everyone but king hssss who seemed to favour him over rattlor/the general we have seen kobra worming his way in at the expense of rattlor before who's to say the proud rattlor was not humiliated when he was demoted and kahn was lording it over him

Not me. I don't know what "thing of the children" is, but it sounds like something that would get me tossed in jail.

I'm not sure how I feel about The Nameless One being a formless male, now (they used the pronoun HE). In the 80's it could have been male or female, and I liked Tallstar's idea (or mine...I can't recall which of us came up with it ) of having Gorgone, the giant Medusa-like snake woman, be the Nameless One.

It is semi-interesting how Nameless One is now the evil equivalent of Light Hope. I wonder if he will be revealed to be "Dark Hope", Light Hope's original name in the She-Ra Filmation Bible? In this canon, Light Hope was a spell...maybe Nameless One was created as the counter balance by the Cosmic Enforcers because the universe needs balance?

Killing off characters doesn't make something like Game of Thrones. Roger Korman and crummy slasher films kill characters all the time, some animal skins and swords don't make them into GoT. Just saying, there's a lot MOTUC lacks to get up to that level. Wish it WERE that level though. The Keldor/Randor/Miro stuff alone would be epic.

This is true, and I thought of that when I read the bio. But we only saw the beginning of all this in MYP, and for all we know Hsss got completely turned against Rattlor over time, despite his dedication, and treated him like a random snake warrior. For something extreme happening, I can see him joining the Horde who might appreciate his abilities, especially since Hordak's ranks are all idiots. It might have even come to light that Rattlor folded under questioning to the court jester and gave up info about the serpent's ring, making him thought of as a coward.
Remember, they can't tell an entire season arc on one bio card. Despite his regal loyalty, things might have turned really sour.

Hey, don't knock Roger Corman! He does make a LOT of terrible films, but some are really good! I also appreciate how he pretty much does it all on his own and said screw Hollywood!

The bios are kind of a mixed bag.

Randor's and Dekker's are great.

Cy-Chops is OK. I think it would have been better if Modulok had built him from leftovers of his other experiments. Kind of a Horde version of Frankenstein.

Castle Greyskull Man..eeh.

Frosta is a norman human? UGH! The whole staff thing is ludicrous. It would have been nice if they had added a line in the bio that mentions her attraction to He-man.

Mosquitor is a fool? Great. I guess every fraction needs one. The Mutants have Slushhead. Skeletor has Whiplash. Hordak had Mosquitor. I also think it would have been nice if TG had somehow added Dan's name to the bio. Even though he unofficially used Pixel already, it still would have been cool.

Rattlor's is really good but the fact that he became "the General" after leaving Hsss and joining the Horde is awful. I always thought a good idea would have been to have Hsss augment Rattlor and Tung Lashor using the Medallion of Serpos to make then into their MYP versions.

Oh, I forgot to mention there is a continuity CHANGE I do not like in King Randor's bio. It states that HE mortally wounds his brother, Keldor. This...I do not like. In MYP, Keldor tries to kill Captain Randor with a vile of acid. When Randor deflects it with his shield, it splashes in Keldor's face. Kedor mortally wounds himself blinded by his thirst for revenge against his brother.

Randor would NEVER kill his brother!

Procutus' bio is good for what it is. But it's based on ideas that are, imo, awful.

Agreed. He job should have been label as the Protector of the Starseed. At least this way he could be used in the canon elsewhere. He could have even been among Master's forces during the Second Ultimate Battleground.

Captain Randor knocked Keldor's swords out of his hands and was ARRESTING him. Then, Keldor pulled the acid out from behind his cape and threw it at his brother. It was an accidental happening that was caused directly by Keldor's actions. His undoing was his own, not Randor's.

It's possible that Rattlor being demoted and joining the Horde, as well as Mosquitor being stupid, was going to be in the MYP cartoon. Scott has said before that they're using lots of the unused storylines from there. I would not put it past them to make Mosquitor just as stupid as Clawful was.

Keldor cut Randor's breaks hoping he would die. Randor can't stop the Attack Trak and he runs into Keldor, causing him to mortally be wounded. Still Keldor's at fault.

Stratos dies, ok i understand this is a new take but i cant remember any of the present evil guys dying, lyn goes to the future, when are we going to see some baddies die. I know in filmation days he-man wasnt to hurt the bad guys but cmon i want some baddies dying now and less goddies.

I agree, but the bios have already made it seem like King Miro was an adulterer and/or a racist. I guess "this isn't your father's" Masters Of The Universe(or mine either).

I just don't understand...

1)wanting MOTU to be like something else which it hasn't been for 30 years(I like Game Of Thrones too but that doesn't mean I want to see Adam & Adora have an incestuous relationship just because characters on that show do)

2)wanting to see characters you like die. Is it realistic? Yes. Fortunately, MOTU/POP aren't realistic nor do I want my entertainment to always be as dark & depressing as the headlines of the morning paper.

Found two items interesting in the Frosta and Dragon Blaster Skeletor Bios that might be tied together;

Dragon Blaster Skeletor
Forced into a war on multiple fronts, Skeletor continued to lead his Evil Warriors into battle, often having to fight side-by-side with his former enemies - the now renegade Masters of the Universe.

Frosta
...she traveled through a Laser Gate to Eternia joining with the Renegade Masters of the Universe...

The item of interest for me in the Frosta bio was the "Laser Gate". With Skeletor working with the renegade Masters (I know - hate that term too), maybe He-Man and Skeletor decided to open the gate to Etheria to bring She-Ra and company over to help.

Laser Power He-Man and Laser Light Skeletor anyone?
