TRAP JAW Vintage MOTU AFA 85 Clear bubble, has anyone ever seen one?

Hi everyone. I just received back my Trap Jaw and it received an 85 clear bubble. Subgrades, 80, 85 and 85. I was absolutely DELIGHTED!

Has anyone seen one of such a grade? I've never seen a clear bubbled Trap Jaw anywhere and wondered how rare my item really is. I collect all MOTU vintage, nothing yellowed and nothing below an 80 grade. Wondering if anyone would be willing to share with me what they think is the rarest and what they think this particular figure would fetch if for sale.

I bought it ungraded on eBay for $375 and submitted it soon after. It was the first one I'd ever seen clear, as I'm sure any collector of these would testify, it's RARE to be so fortunate!

Thanks guys, would love to hear from you and your own rare finds!

Who knows! I might want to buy from you!!!

Congrats on getting such an awesome grade I think it depends on which Trap Jaw your speaking of. The first edition Trap Jaw's ( NEW! ) are extreemly hard to find in such nice condition and with a clear bubble almost impossible. I have never seen a clear bubble Trap Jaw with " The menace of trap-jaw" mini-comic. I would love to see photos of your find.

    Cheers

Thanks! Well this is the type of conversation I need to engage in! Some intricate details such as the 'new' version as well as the comic. It's not the 'NEW' version, and it doesn't have 'The Menace of Trap Jaw' mini-comic. These two specifics are news to me regarding their rarity. I've never seen ANY version of Trap Jaw with a clear bubble, and even with a yellowed bubble they are basically NEVER seen in a C-8+ condition. I know my find is rare, but I guess there is a rarer Trap Jaw out there based on the info you have given me!!!

Something i KNOW is basically never going to be found again, is my AFA 85 Stratos First Edition! That is something I'll cherish forever! Might have that one buried with me!

I added some photos as you can see! I also had Tri Klops graded an AFA 80 Clear with the Trap Jaw submission. Think he's pretty cool too and also rarely seen clear!

Tell me what you think!!! Tell me what you have!

Very nice collection, that Trap-Jaw is a real beauty but the Stratos is even nicer!! I seen that one sell on Ebay, really cool to see it go to a cool person like yourself.. If you ever sell it before you take it to the grave, haha let me know.

i doubt it! It gets buried with me. Although my 4 year old son is taking a liking to He Man. We watch the original series on DVD before bed. He loves Battle Cat and Orko. I'm so proud! As he gets older, he'll realise the value of these things and he'll no doubt want them! I have an 8 Back He-Man that he looks at every night. He's young, he goes for the obvious characters! haha.

What do you have that you would consider equally as rare? I'd love to hear what you have or photos. I'm intrigued and I love this site. Such an amazing series of action figures MOTU. I'm obsessed with them and I'm hoping to one day have the set.

Steve-O for the record the Trap Jaw without ring is much more uncommon then the figures that we're packaged with. Food for thought.

Thanks. Yeah that Man-E-Faces is pretty darn rare! and i'm not overly interested in the Tan Face Grizzlor to be honest. As for the Trap Jaw, how much did you sell it for?
Where are you from in Australia? Melbourne?

Actually, now that i think of it, I think I've seen your youtube video of your collection? Is that correct?

If so, I'm surprised you went after the original 8 back series with warranty set? Do you have any of the first issued 8 backs without warranty and without SKU's? I would have expected that you'd have collected those seeing as though THEY are the first and rarest run of figures? Your 8 back set is nice though, all clear bubbles and all AFA 85. But where is Faker? DO you have him?

If there is anything you are interested in selling, private message me and maybe we can do business!
