Could a Movie save MOTUC and prolong the life of the line?

TG use to always say "maybe in a Movie year", so how about it?

Get the Movie out ASAP and bring MOTUC to retail. Kids will buy the core figure hand over fist, and for collectors the line can continue to release the more obscure and less in demand characters through Matty.

This would bring production costs WAY down and interest in the line WAY up. It is a win-win situation.

It is frustrating that GI Joe, Batman, Transformers, Spiderman etc. all do huge business at the Box Office, and we still have no new He-Man movie.

I think it would pave the way for a newer cheaper line related to the movie and as a jumping on point for other customers than it would breath life back into this particular line unfortunately.

They have to throw money into a movie project to make that happen, and I'm not sure they are willing to do so, especially if the line isn't doing as hot as they expected.

I think people are jumping the gun a bit, when is the final sales date for subs? Toyguru said he would give us a heads up on the status quo before things came to a pass.
There are a lot of people on vacation these days, so subs might be slow coming in.

No I think that a movie would bring out a new line for that movie, in that scale and look. And I imagine that it would draw resources away from Classics or hurt it in some way.

Unfortunately, if they announced a movie today it wouldn't come out in time to have any effect whatsoever on our current crisis.

The movie has been in development hell since 2007 - the studios couldn't even get their acts together during the height of MOTUC - I don't hold much hope for a movie tbh

    MOTUC WISH LIST - KARG * BLADE * SAUROD * GWILDOR * MARA * DARIUS * CRITA * TUNG LASHOR * SSSQUEEZE * KITTRINA * HUNTARA * TUSKADOR * STAGHORN * NINJOR * OO-LARR * MERMISTA * HAWKE * BLAST-ATTAK * PRAHVUS * KOTHOS * GOATMAN * DYLAMUG * EXTENDAR * SWEETBEE * ENTRAPTA * VEENA * ELDOR * LODAR * GRANITA * QUEEN / SORCERESS TEELA * MODULOK * HORDE MUMMY * ZILORA * SULTRA * DARE * HOOVE

A movie could (would, hopefully) save the whole MOTU brand in general.

A movie probably wouldn't help because mattel would create an all new Movie based line. In fact it could kill this line if the movie was popular enough. Collectors who are already paying too much will have to chose one line over the other. Also, mattel would probably focus more on the Movie-based line since it will generate more money as sequels are released. If that movie spawned a cartoon series and it became popular enough, mattel could take the classics line to retail. That would generate more revenue for the classics line.

How about even a video game? My god, I just don't understand how Mattel doesn't understand all the cool things that could potentially be done with MOTU.

I want a movie and a video game. If they came up with a movie with today's technology and made a game, we could have MOTUC forever...It really ticks me off when I walk into Walmart and I see Transformers, Gi Joe, Thundercats and Star Wars but no He-man... That's crap.

I think a movie would kill this line. They would solely focus on movie related toys (and let's be honest most movie line based action figures are hideous). The movie would do good for the brand but not Motuc toyline. I would hope that Motuc would continue on Matty and they would put the movie related toys at retail. A video game based on the classic designs would do wonders for this line.

If a movie came out and Mattel decided to reuse the MOTUC molds for the new figures, would you guys still buy them? I remember Toyguru saying that if they did that, the retail figures would be the same but come with less accessories, like only one head, etc. So they would basically be lesser versions of what you already have. They would have to sell really well to support the existing line, so would you guys still buy them?
