    Let's see who's willing to back up the POP fans

    I think what vintage fans have done all along is underestimate just HOW large a chunk of the fanbase also love POP, 200X and New Adventures. It's all been very rosy for you sat there on your vintage hill, raking in a good 8-10 vintage figures a year, whilst sneering at the 'underdog POP and NA fans' who are throw one or two a year to keep them quiet, telling them they're ungrateful for wanting more of their characters in the line. It's BECAUSE you've had so many of your characters in the line that we're now in THIS situation. We're at a point where a lot of people have collected the vintage ones they wanted, so they're not subscribing, others were just holding out for Ram Man so they're not subscribing, and the POP and NA fans are so fed up with the way they've been treated that they're reluctant to sign up for a sub which may (yet again) only provide one or two of their characters once again.

    So here we are, at a cross roads. It's us completists, us 'WE WANT IT ALL' collectors who have carried this line since day one, hoping each reveal time to see more of the OTHER characters too, but the balance has never swung in our direction, and now, when you vintage fans need to complete your snake men, your rock warriors, your heroic masters and evil Horde, now, now you want us to sign up so that once again YOU can get what YOU want out of it. Perhaps if you had been more open minded to She Ra's characters, Space Mutants, and Galactic Protectors, they wouldn't have been so few and far between over the past 4 years. There should have been an equal balance of all of these brands and factions from the start, instead of so much vintage MOTU, then EVERYONE would have 'just enough' of each to continue subscribing, instead we have some with 'quite enough' of what they want 'walking away, and others with 'barely any of what they wanted' refusing to subscribe.

    So what do we do?

    Do we sign up for a sub where you'll berate She Ra's allies over and over, so that you can get your damned snake men and ninjors. What's in it for us? We WANT to sign up, but we're tired of the old boys club bashing our likes, and the characters we want to see, and we're tired of Mattel not giving us the characters we deserve to get too.

    We have ALL THREE FIRST WAVES of vintage MOTU, we don't even have the first wave of POP or NA. That is NOT right, it's not fair. OUR money helps carry this line too.

    And what of 2014. Toy Guru has publically said if we can get to 2014 he will make sure we get all the major POP and NA characters that year, he'll change things around (a sign in itself that things are not looking good for the line if he has to make that change around). We POP and NA fans are considering supporting the line for 2013, but what then of you, vintage collectors when 2014 comes?

    If we support you for 2013 to keep the line going, will you then abandon us in 2014? or will you repay the support so that WE can get OUR characters TOO?

    I don't mean to come across as brash, but us POP, MYP and NA fans are tired and fed up of the vintage only lot bashing us and what we deserve to get out of this line also. So we'll support you, if you will duly support us in return.

    Really, Who's bashing the POP bandwagon??? I've seen 200X get bashed, I'm one of the bashers... buy I've never seen POP get bashed.

    POP gets bashed quite a bit! And why would bash any faction/line? It's one thing to say "I don't like it" or whatever but to "bash" it? ***!?

    So yes, all those MOTU purists out there who DO bash POP, NA and MYP should be thanking all those fans. We're helping to keep this line going waiting and waiting and waiting for OUR figures to come in. We've been paying for years and only have a few figures to show for it. Where's YOUR loyalty to the line??

    I've posted this elsewhere, but I'll say it here too.

    I personally think a mostly POP 2014 subscription would be more enticing to new customers than more vintage, because a collector could attain almost the entire Princess of Power toy line collection in one year and there's very little POP product on the aftermarket to finish it off. Whereas with MOTU, a new customer could feel overwhelmed trying to get everything that's already been released. It's a huge undertaking.

    I would subscribe for a year of POP...While not a huge POP or NA fan, I am a fan of the line and I think POP fans deserve to see their figs....I would be fine if 2014 was POP heavy...they have been patient with us, buying Vikor, Demo-man, and Dekker, so I can buy Perfuma, Peek-a-Blue-and Glimmer to support them.

    All I know is if they did a PoP subscription (and each figure was done so you could have them look like Filmation OR Toy via masks, accessories, etc...kind of like She-Ra, Catra and Bow) I would buy TWO of those subscriptions! I have only ever had ONE sub per years, but would 100% buy two of those.

    I'm a vintage fan and that not only includes MOTU but PoP and Filmation. I have only criticized the concept and mini comic stuff. Not crazy about NA nd 200x would be fine if they made better character selection--less Dekker, Carnivus mor Sorceress Evil Seed Faceless One etc

    I am trying to adjust my way of viewing the line as not just vintage or PoP or NA but as the "completest" category. I'll support everything at this point.

    Quoted for truth! We've put just as much (though I personally feel 'more') support into this line than those who are interested in only the vintage MOTU recreations. It's nice to see some people in other threads coming around, but at the same time there's a bit of a 'too little, too late' for a lot of POP and NA fans. Keeping in mind that I, personally, have already subbed for next year, why should my fellow POP and NA fans bother to support the vintage MOTU fans when they can't be bothered to do the same for us?

    I'll support. I want all the POP figures, if I can get them. I'm happy with Netossa and The Star Sisters for crying out loud, when hardcore POP fans shunned them because they weren't important enough.

    If I can't finish out the POP collection, then at least give us Glimmer, Angella and Castaspella.

    Hey, we want the same things. We want this line to succeed, and it seems the only way it can survive is if we respect and help each other. I think you are 100% correct in your thinking.

    As I said on Matty forums...

    As a longtime fan of the line, since standing in line at SDCC 2008 and every year since, it saddens me to hear that the line could be coming to an end. Each year, the line has grown and flourished, bringing back so many fond characters and memories, while leaving so many more waiting in the wings.

    From day one, this was promised to be an all inclusive line, and often enough, fans have patiently waited for beloved members of the Great Rebellion and even the Galactic Protectors. With a Rebellion consisting of She-Ra, Bow, Snout Spout, and the Star Sisters, while Icarius is the sole Galactic Protector, I and the other fans implore you to absolutely give these characters their due.

    Frosta and Netossa are on their way, and hopefully so are Queen Angella, Glimmer, Double Trouble, Madame Razz, Sweet Bee, Castaspella, Mermista, Flutterina, Loo-Kee, Horde Troopers, Scorpia, Octavia, Kowl, Darius, Hydron, Sagitar, Mara, Flogg, Crita, Master Sebrian, Kayo, Tuskador, Artilla, Spinwit, Lizzor not to mention characters like Eldor and Queen Veena.

    This line is a testament to the love we all have for this property, and it is a love built from the inclusion of all these characters. Without them, you wouldn't have us here.
    I bought TWO 2013 Subscription as support, because of the promise that showing support will ensure 2014 will include ALL the major POP and NA characters.

    I bought my one sub, as always. I never buy mutlipe figures unless I have a compelling reason to do so. But I did buy two each of She-Ra 1.0 and 2.0. I plan to buy an additional Frosta this year, and I will buy two of any PoP character that is released from now on...just to show my support for more PoP.

    Bright side, if the line ends, I've got fodder to make custom PoP gals.

    The possiblity of the line ending makes me sad, as I've hardly seen any of my favorite figures yet, and yes, that includes vintage MOTU.

    Where are Gwildor, Blade, Stonedar, Rokkon, Rio Blast, Glimmer, Angella, Mermista, Peekablue, Castaspella, Hydron, Flogg, and Sagitar?

    When this line started I wanted it to be nothing but Vintage toys and minicomic characters. However I mellowed somewhat and became more open to figures from other areas. I still don't like some factions though. I accept that is purely a matter of personal preference. I have great sympathy for the NA and POP fans who haven't seen much coming their way. However I don't think it's unreasonable to note that Vintage was the primary influence and was always going to lead the way.

    I also want to point out that we alleged Vintage only fans have actually bought several subs and have 'contributed' as much as anyone else. I have bought two subs for the last three years. I have also bought many figures on sale days.

    I don't think this debate is helped by subscriber versus cherry picker and MOTU versus POP distinctions. The lines aren't that clearly drawn. Remember we can support you in principle even if we don't always want the same things.

    You have no idea how good it makes a PoP fan feel to read a comment like this. I don't see many of these. Thank you. Truly.

    Honestly, I've never even considered buying two subs. However, if they did this I definitely would. Hell, if they had toy AND filmation looks, I might buy three. One of each to display and one for MOC.

    I will do one better,if we got a pop sub, I would buy one myself and buy 1 or 2 more for our over seas friends and ship them all together for them for saving money on shipping. If it was only a six figure sub,I'd buy even more.

    To be fair, I don't think (and maybe I'm wrong) that hardcore POP fans "shunned" either of those. They were either displeased with the way they were executed or they felt the timing or manner of their release was probably not the best as far as the longevity of the line was concerned.

    I never understood how any fan of the MOTU world could alienate one part, I could never love vintage, without loving pop, without loving NA and then MYP. I dont get it, maybe it is just me but I want everything. I am hoping that the direction that they move towards is taking Characters like Scorpia (Filmation, Horde, POP, 1st time made) and making them since they can make a number of "groups" hopefully happy!

    Maybe they should consider:
    2014=all vintage He-Man
    2015=all vintage PoP
    2016=all NA
    And see how long the subs sales meet their minimum. Maybe have a delay of two or three months to give them time to see if the interest is there each year like they did in the first year of DCUC.

    Hey I'm a Vintage MOTU fan, but since I got into Classics, I like what I have seen with how they brought POP into the fold....I fully support POP in Classics, even though I wouldn't want every figure myself.

    The only lines I really don't like are 200X, and NA....but I don't bash them, because there are fans of them, that want them, but I do hope every fan gets the figure they want....regardless of my tastes, I could simply not get the figure....
