It could plausibly have evolved into some kind of humanoid-looking creature (such as the felinoid-humanoid qadians); I mean, the odds of evolving a tetrapod body-plan with a head and four limbs are much more realistic, and the shift to upright position frees the upper limbs for better object manipulation, which fosters the development of sapience. But there surely would be noticeable anatomical differences between humanoid-looking sapient species evolved on different planets. Just think of the striking diversity of ape-like species that evolved on Earth; in fact, Earth evolved at least two anatomically distinct sapient hominid species, Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals, but the latter were sent into extinction by the former in prehistoric times, so it was basically a fluke of the outcome of climate changes and/or prehistoric warfare among sapient hominids that the modern-day inhabitants of Earth are H. sapiens instead of the anatomically different H. neanderthalensis. So, really, the only plausible explanation for Eternian humans to have an anatomy that looks exactly like that of H. sapiens in every way, is that they are simply members of that Earthly species; and their presence on Eternia can then be explained in several ways. For example, as being the result of some specimens having been taken from our planet (or conceived in-vitro from genetic material taken from Earthly humans) at some prehistoric date and, along with specimens of several other sapient species from other planets, brought to Eternia by some space-faring alien race of "ancients" that terraformed a small planet (or moon of a gas giant, since that would make it more plausible to have a "dark" hemisphere subject to frequent eclipses caused by the large shadow of the gas giant) to serve as scenario for a kind of "meeting of races from across the universe" sociobiological experiment. Or, as in some script for the 1987 movie, they could be the descendants of space-faring humans from Earth's future that landed on Eternia's past (for example, travelling through a wormhole).
