Guess it is never too late for an intro!

I guess after 360ish posts I should make some kind of formal introduction. I don't remember when I found He-man.org it what my first post even was (probably nothing profound, lol) but the site has become part of my daily routine for some time now.

So about me, my name is David and I like in Southern Illinois (closer to St Louis MO than to Chicago). I'm married (12 years in october, we met in the toy isle at wal-mart looking at Star Wars figures, true love!), and currently finishing a master's degree in psychology (just wrapping the thesis!).

As for MOTUC, where to start...

He-man was a part of my childhood, had many of the figures and playsets (I should really see if my Castle Grayskull is still around). I played with a lot of stuff though, He-man, Star wars, Gi Joe, Transformers, TMNT and so on. I also played with NA He-man. I tended to go through phases (probably like many kids did), but ultimately Star Wars remained the main line that followed me as I grew up.

The 200X line did respark my interest in He-Man. I loved getting updated versions (well I considered them to be such at the time) of the classic figures that didn't have those squat bodies. And Skeletor...man he was so awesome looking. A proper looking, really EVIL Skeletor. the vintage figure just never looked scary...plus the Filmation cartoon didn't really make Skeletor a scary villain to me, so that was great.

Anyway, 200X was great fun, it ended, I was sad. Started getting the stactions (just bad guys) and then even that ended. My primary collecting was still going for Star Wars anyway.

Flash forward, I start seeing MOTUC news in Toyfae. And really. I didn't care. I wasn't interested in a line that paid tribute to the vintage or made in that style. I assumed they would have squat little legs and certainly would not fit in well with my 200X. No than you.

And then...Adora came. Oh my first secret cartoon girl crush, lol. I couldn't pass her up, so I bought her, from Matty Collector, the day she was released. And she was AWESOME. I put her on my shelf with my Horde Stactions.

And that was it for a while. Until Catra came along that is. Then she had to join the horde display. And then King Hiss, because my Snake Men Stactions needed him, and the 200x figure looked...kind of..bad displayed with them.

So that was it, but somehow I had wandered onto the Org by this post and was reading and posting a bit. Then one day it happened. I saw the Mer-man TRU pack and gave it a look over. It was strange, it honestly felt like I had been under some weird spell, because Mer-man looked AWESOME. These Classics figures weren't squat and silly like the old line... this mer-man looked awesome! of course I didn't dig the mini comic head, I wanted the vintage head, so I didn't get him, but I did snag a Skeletor, and soon ordered Mer-man.

So that is how it began. Soon I started getting all of Skeletor's group. I decided that i didn't need anyone else, and would only get Horde or Snake men if I didn't have a staction. And for a while, I stuck to that.

For a while it was just the Evil warriors. Then...well....the Horde would fit in with my MOTUC display better if they were classics too...so i started getting them. Then I decided that I at least needed a He-man. And then the Mad Matty sale came... and what was going to just be 1 set of palace guards to get beaten up in a display became...much...more, lol.

So suddenly it wasn't just evil Warriors, it was darn near everyone. Even the Star Sisters! And it keeps on expanding, i just recently bought a Slushhead and Optikk that will be arriving soon.

In short, my interest just keeps growing for MOTUC. It has become my primary line, and the display keeps expanding. And for the first time I became a subscriber for 2013.

All of the recent fears of the 2013 sub not going through and the line ending have put me in a reflective mood. I messed around with my collection and made a big battle scene over the weekend, and kind of took a trip down memory lane. I love MOTUC and am very hopeful and excited about the future and more figures!

So for anyone who hasn't hit the "back" button yet, thanks and I'm happy to be here on the Org
