Just out of curiosity, was anyone waiting to vote on 8/8 for the 2013 fan slot?

I just want to see if Illumina would have " won" . Just.. curious....I HAVE TO KNOW!!! We all know at this point that, whatever Matty says, goes . That being said, I didn't vote for her or Geldor.

As far as the end date, we were told it was a typo. Without proof, any claims to the contrary is just hearsay. Feel free to say you think the date change stinks, or you hate it, or you feel it was wrong, etc. But please keep the accusations of fraud, and the insults and attacks out of this thread.

And if you still want/need answers about the date typo, please contact Mattel directly via e-mail, phone or their Ask Matty section of their forums. Alternatively, you can submit a question in our Q&A submission thread (unless someone beats you to it).

I personally think it was wrong for Mattel to pull the vote. I got all my votes in though.

I voted right away when I subbed, but it took me nearly 30 minutes to figure out how to with all of the difficulty. I know other people had the difficulty as well, so I'd assume that there were some people who may have been waiting to vote today...

I thought the votes ended when the subs did so no. It was pretty clear that they said to not wait to vote, regardless of the typo on the date. I gave all 7 of my votes to Illumina so I'm disappointed she didn't win but hey it's over and done with. I'll look forward to Geldor and keep the faith that we'll get Illumina at some point!

It took me a bout 24 hours to receive my vote code when I ordered my sub on the first day. If we had a 45% increase and those orders were anything like mine that's a hella lot of people who don't get to vote. Even if the line is as small as only produced at 5000 units, that's around 2000 votes that are not being counted. That's a lot of votes.

Scott can say you had 3 weeks to vote all he wanted but if you just bought a sub last night you had only hours, and probably don't even have a code yet.

I don't think there's anything sinister going on, just another DR boo-boo. My hope was that Scott would see what was going on, say "Oops--I realize people may have thought they still had time to vote, so we'll go ahead and leave the voting open until 11:59 PM on 8/8." Now, if the typo would have extended the deadline for another week or something, then sure, cut it off now, but I just don't see what harm there would have been in leaving it open another day and a hlaf. However I do understand that there are behind the scenes logistics and stuff that we don't know about, so maybe there really was a reason they HAD to cut it off now.

I clearly remember that the votation was going to last UNTIL 8 august, and it's still 7.
So fan that subscribed have still more than 24 hours to vote.
Considering how important are 24 hours (from 92% to 135%) it is VERY disappointing that MATTEL closed rougly the votation before the time stated.
Bad, considering that ILLUMINA was so close to the first place!

ALso I see many fans unhappy that ILLUMINA didn't win, and I see no one that says himself happy that Geldor won.

Even if it was a typo, the best decision would be to honor what was written and wait until tomorrow to close the voting. Again, if their Legal Department won't let them release a list of possible figures because of misleading information, this case is...

I voted in the Green Demon so I don't care who would've won anyway.

But I'm happy that Illumina isn't going to be made under those conditions, I'm not a supporter of the character, but I'm less of a supporter for a Teela repaint with a blue head.

I hope that if Illumina gets made, she is given a proper sculpt to honor her creators.

Like Swifty, I thought the vote ended when the subs would go down. I did wait to the last day to finally see if my voting code would work (and it finally did). My votes went to Illumina, but honestly I think Illumina would have won if she hadn't been promised to be a repaint instead of having her own tunic. I don't think Illumina fans have anything to be ashamed of here, we've got the best case for actually getting a proper version of her now IMO. I don't know when she'd make it in though, 2014 seems like really needs to deliver on vintage--and I'm just hoping that doesn't preclude long overdue Filmation characters like Shokoti and Scorpia.

Also, I think we can get her made with positive enthusiasm rather than conspiracy theories!!! The vote ending when it did might have given Toyguru the clout to make both Gledor and Illumina!

People expected the code to be sent to you instead of displayed for you to write down.
