    The Official 1988 Plasmar Thread

I give him this name only cause thats how Errol descibed him in his filenames. A great Powercon or chase figure. Fisto head, rioblast hands, he-ro armor, squeeze loin leg armor and boots.

People wanna say some of New Adventures, Filmation, and 200X had bad designs but everyone thinks these unoriginal hodgepodge messes are so great I just don't understand it.

What do you think of Stinkor and MossMan, they're essentially the same thing.

Yea as well as almost 85% of the vintage line that had the same bodies etc...I think they are cool...you have to have an open mind to see the cool things...I'd rather have these in my mythos instead of The Mighty Spector.....

I think what's cool about them is they are what would have been if another wave had made it to retail. As someone who remembers the excitement of finding new, unknown figures at a store, I am excited about these because I can imagine myself finding as a child and what I would think of them then...good or bad.

While not my favorite of these designs, I'd be happy to get him. Maybe he's a later Cosmic Warrior, one who does not get to wield the a Sword of He because of the Trollans deal with Eternia. Forced to rely on technology, he adopts new weaponry, even including pilfered Horde crossbows and flip-out blasters.

I'd have to see a colour scheme that really pulls it together. As it stands he is my least favourite (not counting the white ninja who is too booring to even ackowledge)

The idea is cool but I hate the idea of reusing heads. "Classicize" this character by giving it an all new head and new x-bow.

    Or

Make him a Darius variant. King Darius?

Would be an OK addition to the Preternian Evil Horde ... as long as the head was a different sculpt in some way from Fisto.

I would use the 200x fisto head on this guy when I customize him

I think it's crazy that they were planning on reusing the He-Ro chest piece in the same dang wave.

I think this dude has potential though. Love to see gbagok take him on.

I like the idea of making Hot Shot a Latino I think it helps set him apart from Fisto and I use the 200x Fisto head so they'll still look different anyway.

I agree. The implementation of this seems to be well done. My fears are at rest.

Why was his armor changed to SLL from He-ro's. Think it has something to do with his powers and the gem of TALMEDGE

I think it had more to do with keeping He-Ro's armor to himself, what with his "H" symbol on it and all. The gem is a nice touch and works well, and is still visually very similar to Errol's drawings. I think it's a good move myself.

I suddenly realized something about Plasmar recently:

you do realize that, as a Spanish version of Fisto, he as a result bears a striking resemblance to former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, right?

Just put the hat on him, along with that military outfit, and tell me I'm wrong.

So he seeks to sieze the means of production?

I was wondering (upon reading the discussion of the loss of tooling of the Havoc Staff in another thread) if the change-over in HotSho-- PLASMAR'S armor mightn't be related

He-Ro's Armor has NEVER been re-used by ANYONE in the coming-up-on EIGHT years since his glorious release. I wonder if the mold for this important piece was similarly found wanting-- or found at all??

Like most of my musings, this is likely an ill-informed fever-dream. But the thought of a lost/corrupted Havoc Staff mold got me thinking...

Well unless his name was Hasmar it makes no sense to use the He-Ro armor, available or not.

Yeah, but his name WAS HotShot before his 'character upgrade", or whatever. I'm finding myself NOT warming to his new Handle, but that's just me... :^)

i think it's because of that H symbol, it's like he-man's harness, it shouldn't be used with someone else. I used it on my vizar, but i still tried to get rid of the symbol.
