I enjoyed it. I wonder if that was the only Leech or if there are multiples of him like the Scareglows and Beastmen. He did have a Horde symbol.

Wow. I liked this story. MOTUC Resolute indeed. Adult storylines. Sometimes being a king means making the tough decisions.

    • I kept hearing Michael Donovan's voice narrating this one.
    • Gory as all hell...we see entrails and blood.
    • MAA was maimed by one of Leech's race?
    • I thought that guy the slugman was feasting on was dead by the look of his throat.
    • Another Blonde Teela sighting!
    • Randor sounds parental...someone who went through dark times to ensure his heirs would have a brighter future.
    • No Marlena?
    • No Adam?

I liked it because of the darker tone. The art itself was rather disappointing but overall it was an enjoyable issue.

I really liked this one. I was very critical of the redesigns but I thoroughly enjoyed the story of this one.

This must be one of the darkest MOTU stories I have ever read. It was very brutal and direct story telling at its best.

I don't think it's the Leech from the Horde, but one of its own kind. Without giving any spoilers, I like how sometimes there is a no win situation and what a must do.

It is one of the best stories yet.

I LOVED that story. These tales are why i prefer high fantasy over direct scifi. The honour..kings and princes marching into battle etc. Love love loved this issue. this one and the man at arms are my faves so far. People might bemoan the darker tone...but that this property can inspire writers to make a mythology...for me it just confirms my belief in the brand.
I liked the art for the most part..my only issue was this artist did not make a good case for the he-man redesign

Am I interpreting this correctly: Randor left the infected folks on Rock Island, right? Wouldn't the Realm still be in danger if somehow someone made it to the Island without using the bridge?

That was the best one yet, including the nr 1 of the other series.
Dark and serious. I love it.

It looks like Adam is not He-man in secret in this incarnation. That is great too.

Blonde Teela is fine in a DC comic. It is a nice nod to their previous DC Teela incarnarnation.

I love this one - best one so far!
I really like how it adds to Leech's abilities

infecting other beings while draining their life........................ infected dylinx (Panthor's race)
    .
I think this very well could have been the Leech we know. Who knows...maybe it is able to

regrow cut off parts - and thereby might still live after all

And the dark tone of the story worked so well!

The only thing I could have done without: blonde Teela...

It may have just been a one off story but the way it happened made me think there will be more to this story.

He might have had guards "sanitize" the area with Wind Raiders after that OR maybe the people would have died of starvation with their routes to the mainland cut off. In 28 Weeks Later, the zombies from the first movie died without people to eat.

My first thoughts upon completion... "Holy crap!! Did I really just read that? I can't believe they did that... That was a really cool story!!"

I love how it gave us insights not just into Randor, but also MAA.

I am a bit confused by/interested in the fact that He-Man is hanging out at the palace instead of Adam. It almost makes me think this story and the ending of the Battle Cat one maybe take place in the "future" of the MOTU world we know. Sometime slightly before Randor's banishment, when Adam has earned the He-Man mantle full time (leading to the whole King He-Man instead of King Adam, if it plays out the way I think it will). Of course, this storyline probably isn't supposed to fit into what we know of MOTUC canon, but nice to see how it could.

The art was a little on the sketchy side, even for my tastes (I see a bit of Bill Sienkiewicz in it) and the blood spray was applied too much in a few places, such as when Duncan was attacked. It took me until the 2nd or 3rd appearance of the Leech creature to realize it was wearing a Horde symbol on its chest.

And I agree this is probably one of Leech's race, rather than the actual Leech we know. Perhaps he was a hero in his people's eyes, inspiring them to don the Horde symbol to keep the Horde in people's memories while the true Horde was lost to Eternia.

Ok, first thoughts over... Time to go back and reread this puppy!

By the way Randor looks VERY similar to Keldor in some panels
    i like that!

By the way - that interpretation of Leech goes straight into my own canon! LOVE IT!

He left them to die, because there was no other way to save them at this point.

    Zombies in MOTUC = WIN!

I enjoyed the story and the art...EXCEPT that He-Man.

Sweet Lord in Heaven...of all of the "updates" the one to He-Man's appearance is the most nonsensical. He looks like a bad variant...

I get so sick of every creator thinking that they need to "add to" the mythos and change things that do NOT need changing. The two most iconic things about He-Man are his harness and the Power Sword. And between the Randor and Battle Cat comics, they've managed to butcher both.

    Sucks.
    Sucks.
    Sucks.

Nice story though. And I REALLY liked the "King Conan" homage on that last page.

Wow. That little linguistic twist in the monologue at the end made th issue for me... The idea of who the monster really was. Really loved this one - probably my favorite so far.

At first, I was sad that they went the zombie route as it's more than a bit played out... But they did such a good job with the story that I forgave rather quickly.
Photog is here! thank you, Mattel!

Now how about some mini-comics love (like Lodar, Geldor, Dakon......)? And Mermista?

So far this is the story I dug the most.

Anything involving the Horde I'm a fan of. Although having the Leech wear the Horde symbol is a bit confusing. The infection angle makes Leech even more monstrous.

While I'm not a fan of the art, I like Leechs design in this. Notice at the beginning where he's all pumped up in size, but then after the battle when he's drained his frame is more slight and thin. I thought that was a nice nod to the biology of an actual leech.

    Great issue!

This was a really cool story. I like seeing Randor and Duncan in their youth and seeing them fighting zombies is great Saturday morning fun. Do we know who the next issue will focus on?
