Are you using a vector based program to do this?
Well to use illustrator to trace the image is no big deal. And this just looks like using the live trace function of it. smack a background behind it and that's that.
I don't know other artworks of yours, but just seeing this, i can only think of letting the program do the work.

But it still looks good and one can get cool effect in adjusting the levers, but i don't understand that violett stripe on his chest area. This does not fit with all the other areas of the figure.

Thanks for the feedback. While you could use live trace, in Illustrator, to get something close, I did not. I used the pencil tool in Illustrator to draw the shapes that I wanted and chose the colors that I wanted to use. I just thought I would share a fun piece of fan art. I wasn't really looking to get blasted for the way I created it.Cheers!
