The Official Icon Heroes Castle Grayskull Thread - boxart revealed!

Now that Mattel has announced that a MOTUC Castle Grayskull is in the works does anybody still plan on purchasing the Icon Heroes Castle Grayskull? Do you think Icon Heroes had any idea? If not, I think that's pretty messed up on Mattel's part.

I am still getting one! It will be part of the statue display, totally seperate from the toys

yes, it's too beautiful, much better than any previous CG and reminds me much of the filmation version. I'll preorder the Mattel version (in addition) if its comparable to this one.

How many problems do you think the "Classics" version is going to have? I mean, look at all the flaws the MOTUC figures have had. And the Icon Heroes version is awesome....but why a wooden door? And what's up with the wooden window sills, shingles, etc? Do the nails, that were used to bang them in, have the power of Grayskull too? Come on! The castle is made of stone!

I'm totally getting this version too. I love the "complete" look it presents. And this one I'll probably put in my office. The Classics version, not so much.

The original sculpt of Grayskull makes it appear that bits of it were made of wood, even if they weren't painted that way on the classic toy. I don't think it was really meant to be all-stone. But it does beg the question, when you open it up, what is the inside of the jawbridge? Stone? Is it a wooden door backed by a stone lower jaw? Could be.

Those are not the 6" figures, those look to be prototype full size statues and busts... I'm assuming future Icon Heroes items

If you're talking about the gray figures, those are 2-ups from the 200X line. The castle was at the 4H booth. AFX didn't show up at the con for whatever reason.

Anyone else notice the Sorceress symbol at the back of the top of the skullcap, and what looks like Zodac's symbol on the inside of the top of the castle? Vlcan noticed RIGHT AWAY at Power-Con. Very cool little touches that just make this castle so much better.

Some people have been wanting to see the statue next to figures, and it's an unfortunate coincidence that it was displayed next to oversized figures in the photos. Any pictures of the statue next to standard-sized vintage, 200x or classics figures?

I can't wait to get both! I think Icon Heroes is going to do other statues (I'd guess Snake Mountain is probable) so I'd like to have a few of these. Plus, it's the WHOLE castle, you won't get this with the MOTUC version.

I'm still looking forward to this VERY MUCH! Just call me greedy…I want the Classics Grayskull playset too! lol With the Icon Heros statue though…it's completely in the round…not just two walls.

Go with fantastic plastic toys. Never had a problem. And thats the first place I shop now. I just ordered my castle from there.

Even though it;s just a peak, that teaser really takes me back, what with the red sky and the greenish bricks. I can't wait to see the whole thing. Is it 100% digital or did you start with a pencil sketch?

Does anyone know how tall the jawbridge measures? I know the total size of the castle but it's tough deducing the gate height from the pictures, with the perspective and stuff.
