Which Garn Do You Want As A Toy?

Garn appeared in both a mini-comic and a Filmation MOTU episode as a strong warrior who battled he-Man. If we get him as a toy, which version would you want?

    Mini-Comic?

Mini-comic all the way! I love his native american vibe, he ranked in my top 5 in the .org fan choice poll. He and Princess Rana of Targa would make excellent choices for inclusion further down the line.

Now, if on the off chance we get Filmation Garn with his egyptian feel, he'd make a greart associate for 200x Sorceress.

I hope we eventually get a mini-comics Garn though.

Even though, technically, mini-comic Garn is as much Native American as Jitsu is Japanese or Melaktha is African, his design is obviously influenced by it. That's why I picked him. It's unique to MOTU and cool looking at the same time.

I get a kick that you put "technically" in there. I get it, because an argument can/may be made that Eternians don't have Earthling nationalities and cultures, with the widely accepted exception of Queen Marlena who is herself an Earthling/Terran.

I've not been around too long, but I've been around long enough to have seen it happen before

Minicomic, definitely. Filmation version is kinda bland to me.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I'd prefer the mini-comic version but if you made a compromise with the skin colour by having it somewhere inbetween the two, gave him two heads and removable mini-comic armor with the Filmation armor underneath the you could get both versions in one.

I agree with this... easy enough to fit both in the package.

I prefer Filmation; he's one of the few cool black characters in the mythos.

Now I'm not even sure if he's black. I always thought he was, but slackrguy makes a good point about his "Egyptian feel"(or whatever is similar to Egyptian on Eternia). I wonder what they were going for when they designed him.

There are black people in Egypt. I really liked his Filmation design.

There are black people in Japan. I just meant I couldn't tell if he was supposed to look like he was of African descent or Egytian descent.

I'm not sure, but I always assumed black. Maybe we should ask him.

    Isn't Egypt in Africa?

Therefore, wouldn't an Egyptian be African by default?

I actually like both, but I would rather have Filmation. The cartoon episodes stuck with me and were more important to me than any comics ever were...even the mini comics that came with the figures as awesome as they are.

Here's the thread discussing which Garn in the character support forum, glad to see an actual poll though!

I always saw the Filmation version as being more "Persian". But, that's just me.

Anyway, I think I'd prefer the mini-comic version. Plus, Princess Rana would be a nice follow up to Garn. She's from the mini-comic too.

I'm in the minority, but I voted Filmation.

It's because while I super love that he's basically representing the American Indian in the minicomic, and we could use that in MOTUC, I love the Egyptian thing he's got going on in FIlmation. And I think Egyptian not only fits better (though I am not really complaining about "fitting" in a world with a cyber cowboy) I think it's a great look and would like to see more "egyptish" characters.

Though I would rather have Lodar than Garn either way, If we got a "Native" Garn, that would be just fine. Though not my prefrence, I'd still be proud to have him.

What makes the Filmation version so boring looking? The mini comic one is basically a generic Native American Warrior and the Filmation one is a monster African/Egyptian Gladiator.
