Just got my prints from Rudy this weekend. They're all printed on a textured paper to give them that canvas feel. Fantastic color and reproduction. I can't wait to frame them and get them up!

I got my prints from Rudy today! I want to get them framed, but don't have anywhere to put them yet so I'll probably wait a while. If you get yours framed would you mind posting pics of them so I can see how you decided to do it. I figure I'm going to go with black plain metal frames with non-glare glass.

If you bring them to Michaels which is a craft store we have in the midwest, the framing experts can assist you in selecting frames and matte colors that work well with each piece. It can be expensive, but these prints really deserve professional framing. Michaels often has 50% off custom framing coupons in their weekly fliers.

I have all four of the William George prints framed. I went with black wood and a mat that matched the most prominent color in the print. I will probably go with a dark brown wood frame with a dark green or purple mat for the Grayskull print. Not sure what color I will go with for my Battle Ram or He-Man / BC print. I'll post pictures later. Be prepared for major sticker shock. Aaron Brothers tried t charge me $340 to frame one of the George prints. I had my Mom take all of them to China (she's a flight attendant) and it was closer to $20 or $30 each!

If you are going to his studio, ask to see the proofs from the vintage box artwork he worked on. He has a bunch in a drawer and they are awesome! I wish I had taken a picture of them to post for everyone here. Rudy is such a nice guy - I emailed him when we found out that the new Grayskull was a go and he replied right away - I could tell he was excited!

Would love to see pics of your William George stuff, beastor!

Other than Attak Trak, do you know what other Masters package art he did?

I'm not sure of all the art William George did. I actually talked to him for a bit at PowerCon this year but he couldn't remember which pieces he worked on. I did take the He-Man / Battle Cat and Skeletor / Panthor boxed sets from the commemorative re-issues down for Rudy to sign. He told me he didn't do the Skeletor one and that he thought William had done it. Here is a shot of my framed Eternia print with navy blue matting. The other three prints are packed away until I have the room to display them!

Save the lamination for dinner table place-mats. I say, frame those babies to show them the respect they deserve!

Here, FINALLY, are pics of my framed Grayskull print. I love this thing SO much and am sorry the pics aren't better. Before I had this, that wall space was occupied by 9 Filmation cells; the current plan is to get The Battle Ram print from Rudy and put that next to the Castle print, and then that'll make the perfect space for my 3 favorite cells to go under the prints--but they're currently in top-loader arylic cases, so I've got to get some nicer frames for them so everything looks nice and fancy--gonna get a black frame for the SOTS poster, too.

Anyway, that's so cool that you also did the dark blue mat as that's what I thought looked best for Grayskull, too! I think it really brings out the sky/background of the print. And I was planning on using black, as I think that always looks best for this kind of thing (and most things), but the salesgirl suggested the blue and I liked it, and for the whole 10 days while I waited for it to be finished I was like "Gaaaaaah! What have I done?! Is this gonna look good? Should I call and change it? Is it too late to do that?! This is a lot of money if I don't end up loving it!" but thank God I didn't change it because I could not be happier with how it turned out!

I like laminating on a board but it's so permanent, but spill proof.

Thanks for posting pics! Again, the blue looks great. I'm really tempted to try a deep reddish/orange mat on these to tie into the lava fire motif and the original figure package color but I don't want the mat to overshadow the art. I'll see how it looks when I get the frame shop but I imagine I'll be following suit with you guys going with a blue.

I totally get your line of thinking on the deep reddish/orange, but I think you're right that it could overshadow the art. I was even worried about the blue doing that cuz she said the standard mat would have been about 2 more inches all around, and I do think that might have been like HERE'S BLUE! LOOK AT AT ALL THIS BLUE! so I'm very happy I stuck to my guns and made the mat thinner. But I do think I might steal your suggestion about the reddish/orange mat when I get The Battle Ram print since that one's background is closer to that look and could look amazing!

I was thinking the same thing for the Battle Ram print I got from Rudy (dark orange or rust colored mat). I am sending these all to China with my mom soon for framing so I need to get this figured out!!!

EDIT - Here are all the prints he has up for sale.

Hey Gang! A few weeks ago, I noticed someone was selling Rudy's Grayskull prints on ebay at a lower price than he was. I contacted Rudy to ask him if these were legit. He said he didn't know anything about it and investigated himself. He got back to me today and asked me to share the following with the MOTU community...

All MOTU Classics fans. I really need your help! My Castle Grayskull print is being pirated and sold on Ebay without any permission or authorization from me. The sleazeball Seller is manetoys (945 ) . Does anyone know who he is?
Recently I've been providing Castle Grayskull prints to all those who want them. My prints are high quality as they are repro
duced off of a transparency I own and they are printed on very high quality paper. My guess is he is making knockoffs from one of my sold prints.
Which means it's a second generation reproduction. It's my art and I try to keep very high standards when it comes to my work. So he's selling crap with my name on it. He needs to respect you fans and all the art of the MOTU Universe. The one way to stop this rip off is to not bid on the GraySkull print at all. Right now the bidding on it stands at $10. I hope it stays that way. As a favor I'm asking all of you to please spread the word to the whole MOTU fan world to ignore any and all Castle Grayskull print offerings from manetoys on EBay. We can send him a message that what he's doing is just plain wrong.

Thank you for all your support and appreciation of my work!

    Rudy Obrero

    Hey Snakeeyes,
That is funny - I sent him an email last Friday letting him know about the counterfeit prints as well. The fans at He-Man.org have got Rudy's back!!!

EDIT - Oops I realize now that this looks like a frequent he-man.org member's auction. I am glad they did the right thing and took the listing down.

So ebay took it down as well? I just searched for it and didn't find it so I guess they did, so GOOD. And yeah, he was trying to sell them here, too, and he got shut down. Yer damn right we got Rudy's back!!!!

For the record, Ebay did not take it down. I did. Like someone has already stated, because it was the right thing to do.

Edit: I'd also like to add that I contacted Mr. Obrero with my apologies so I hope we can drop it now. Thanks.
