yeah, I don't want to outright refute it because I AM ignorant of many import/export regulations, but this makes ZERO logical sense. (but then again so does shipping to sweden before getting to Canada! ) But do retailers pay customs for EXPORTING?? I thought custom charges were laid on those who import. I can't speak on big corporations but again, that makes no logical sense.

No, you don't pay customs for exporting, only importing. My company has a factory in Shanghai and they do not have to pay any kind of "export" fee. Just cost of shipping the goods to their destination. The receiver(s) are responsible for paying all import/customs charges.

What I truly don't understand is why Mattel is distributing all of the Canadian orders from Sweden (where the EU orders are distributed from) when they could be sent directly from the US distribution centre in California and then straight to us. It would be faster and I daresay cheaper to do so.

Somebody at Mattel needs to realize that Canada is not "overseas" and that it would be less complex and more rapid customer service to just send the stuff from the USA straight to Canada. I can't believe that needs to be explained to anybody.

I think many americans think Canada is overseas, gues digital river does too. I KNEW that exporters didn't pay customs, but I didn't want to say definitively without having direct confirmation.

I think it's just a matter of all "international" packages being routed through Sweden, and nobody having the foresight or initiative to come up with something more efficient or cost effective for North American "international" shipping.

Every one of my 23 orders from Matty bounce their asses from CA to NV back to CA then back again to NV....everyone....

One time it did the CA, NV, CA, NV....then off to WY, then back to CA for an entire day before coming back my way.

I think it's complete BS it takes 7 - 9 days to get my stuff for $9, when Priority mail for me to send to CA for one MOTUC takes 3 days, and costs $7....

Not to mention, my October orders seem to be holding in Limbo since yesterday morning at 1am....no movement, no tracking number to actually see if they have moved or not using the real USPS tracking....what's up with that?

possibly but it's STILL stupid because international doesn't just mean 'europe'

but DR seems to be very 'Green Acres' the way they run their digital retailing.

I went through and counted 116 Canadian orders listed in this thread that have gone to Sweden first!!

But it's not real unless we hit 200.....

EDIT - It seems Leech was the fastest to arrive using the cheap shipping method to Canada by far. People were receiving it within 7 days. This is documented in the Canadian shipment thread in this forum. Here is a link to a post exclaiming how amazing it was. There were no Sweden stickers/stamps on those packages. Toyguru, please see what the difference was between the Leech shipments and the current ones!

Mine are doing it again. I had the sub, the He-Man party pack, and the weapons pack, three shipments. THe SUb says it shipped last Friday, a week ago. Well all of th eshipments have gone from CA to NV, back to CA, back to NV, to Utah, Colorado, back to Utah, then have been sitting in Kansas at last update. Frustrating that they can't get here in a full week's time.

So Scott, any word on the concerns of us Canadian consumers? this is a ridiculous situation and 100% avoidable, QC concerns happen in any manufactured product, but shipping to Sweden to get to Canada, is STUPID plain and simple. Can you see why it's happening and have them put an end to it? It poorly affects international confidence in Matty which hurts sales which hurts the line.

I've personally asked this question 4 times on the matty boards along with many other Canadians. We just received our shipping notice for Nov still have not received anything for Oct.. many Canadians are in the same boat.. why!!!! because our shipments are in Sweden.. My god.. do we have to stand on our heads and spit nickles to get some answers ???

Please can you tell us what is going on.. and your CS is saying it's USPS..

Digital river uses Mail on the move not USPS. and i've dealt with USPS they work in connection with Canada Post.. they are well aware that Canada is beside the US

Mail on the move.. well who knows.. maybe they thing Canada is on the moon.

Please get us some answers.. this is getting to be too much!

It bugs me how so many repeated questions ("when will we get x figure?" etc.) get answered but our questions are repeatedly ignored.

I know others have done it to, but I can't seem to pull up the transit history on old orders anymore, that one was quite notable due to it going entirely the wrong way globally before backtracking and then going towards me in the USA.

Come on, what a pathetic answer trying to pass the buck on to USPS.

No freaking way USPS sends our stuff to Sweden all on their own. The only way it goes to Sweden if that's the instructions USPS were given by the person/business who handed the parcel over to USPS.
