    vintage Guerrero (a.k.a. Bear-Foot)

With the 30th anniversary of Masters Of The Universe in full swing right now and the sad passing of original He-Man prototype sculptor Tony Guerrero earlier this year I wanted to do a tribute to the 'original He-Man' from back in the very early 1980s as sculpted by Guerrero. This is what I figured he'd look like had the original prototype gone into production as 'He-Man'.
The figure is now named after it's creator (wanted to call him Guer-Ro first - as the The Power And The Honor Catalog Vol.1 listed the sculptors name as 'Guerro' , but it seems they misspelled his name in the catalog)

    Anyway, here he is:

While I was toying with the name, my pal Tyke came up with the name Bear-Foot. I actually like that one a lot! So maybe from now on I'll call him Bear-Foot, with the original name Guerrero (like on the MOTUC bio's). Recipe is very simple. He-Man figure (hard head), cut off a bit of his hair, sculpted on a helmet. Also I cut off the fur of his boots and sculpted lower legs and feet. Might try and make him again in the future, but with a removable helmet.

For those who don't know the original prototype figure, here he is:

Are you going to PowerCon this year? I think that would be a real hit!

This is actually a prototype that DESERVES at MOTUC update, as it actually had a completed prototype statue that we all know of and have seen.

Awesomely done! And now someone needs to make an MOTUC one (probably using Demo-Man's "trophy head" helmet for the head).

Well, thank you VERY much for the kind words everybody!
Sculpting the helmet was the biggest challengefor me as I'm not that good of a sculptor. I am very pleased how it came out!

Unfortunately I live in Europe. PowerCon is way out of budget for me... Would love to visit some day and if I do I'll bring my customs!

Indeed, I felt that this figure needed to be made. Like TrimmTrabb said, it should be a SDCC exclusive or something... Or maybe a special gift for the people coming to or PowerCon. He just belongs in the 30th Anniversary celebrations! If I had a spare MOTUC He-Man and the parts needed for his bare feet, I'd try and make him MOTUC too! Oh well, maybe one day...

Yeah, I really should learn how to cast. I'd send you both the casts of the heads. Someday soon I'll teach myself how to do that

Oooh... I had missed that thread. And very right you are, it should be made maybe only the head indeed. Or a loose helmet to fit on a He-Man head. That would be awesome!

Here's what I'm working on as far as an MOTUC Guerrero (thanks to your inspiration, e-man). Helmet is from a Palace Guard, smoothed out (more or less) & added to a hairless He-Man head; horns, dots, and spike added are made from hot glue (I may redo with Sculpey later on for a more professional look, but at least I can give the excuse he looks "battle-damaged" here). I'll be getting to his shins & feet hopefully soon.

Thanks! Here he is MOTUC'ed! I still got to get the calves painted the right shade, but figured I could show him off here for now.

    @ Mistico:
Why those feet? Original sculpture has human feet.

I wanted him to look like he was wearing "bear" feet (as is part of the title to the thread), like he used them as trophies from his latest hunt as well as shoes. Plus it was easier to leave the Demo-Man feet attached to the shins than to take them off.
