[Shipping Is Now Lower/Halved on CG] International Shipping for GS-Too Expensive?

MOD NOTE: Shipping is now much lower on Castle Grayskull for International customers. It seems that in most cases it's been havled!

well i just have to put this out there because i'm so mad right now.... International fans make up a large portion of the Motuc sales and with what happened with the subs.. you can't deny that.. and now with these insane shipping quotes from Matty for GS..

ARE they shipping CAR PARTS!!! or a toy..

anyways..

was fun while it lasted..

Shipping rates are not cheap anymore, and that is right from the post office. 1 figure purchased on Ebay from US to Canada starts about 18 - most sellers like priority mail with tracking which is alsmost 30. AND THAT IS FOR ONE FIGURE.

Matty says most of the sales are in the US, so the US pre-orders should be able to make CG happen.

Like I said in another thread:
It would be nice if mattel would give a international shipping estimate already.
They only need to know dimensions of the outside box and the weight range to get a USPS price.
I am sure they can already guestimate the boxsize and weight.

I really hope they dont make the box crazy big.

Its almost $200 for the shipping internationally. I was willing to buy one even withh the $250 price tag but the shipping cost is Insane. The experiment has failed already & no doubt we'll get the blame for not buying & not Mattel for their ridiculous shipping rates.

The quote for international shipping is outrageous. Toyguru is going to have to look into that. I believe they can ship the items for half what I was charged on the preorder.

Update: Oh, I see $200 listed. It was $500 for 2 preorders. Maybe I should have checked and ordered individually. That's a $100 saving on shipping. Curses.

Darn. The sacrifices I make for this awesome line...

Is that the UPS or USPS rate?

I just ordered a Grayskull to ship to UK, and yes, it was $198.75 shipping.

i mean i had a box shipped from a fellow orger, the box was so large .. and weight a lot it would be like ordering 3 GS size wise.. it was shipped to me via UPS and the price was 75.00, and that was tracked.. where do they get these prices from.. Yes prices go up but not 200%

I'm going to hold off on ordering one for now. They need to fix this. And there are a number of ways they can do this.
For instance, why is UPS even being listed as an option? They are dropping UPS next year, and switching to DHL b/c they're supposed to be cheaper. What gives?

I tried going on USPS and seeing how much something would have to weight to be $200.
Working within the maximum box size that USPS.com will even allow, Grayskull would have to be 60lbs for it to come in around $200 Priority International.

I am kind of hoping someone just put some way overzealous numbers in for the shipping rates without thinking. If not, this pretty much kills most of the European orders.

Was about to put up my pre-order, I was very excited!

But $200 shipping, and 25% import taxes, it will total at more than $560

It's a shipping cost so ridiculous that I'm not even sad to pass

I feel bad for the international fans. That shipping price is crazy! I thought good ol' Scooter was going to look into that european distribution center a few months back. Wouldnt something as grandioso as castle grayskull be something (even the only thing) where they can use that center to ship from? Unless they gave him a "No" answer on it, if he tried, this preorder will sink, highly doubtful it'll get the same numbers as 'the '13 sub without our oversea friends.

This is outrageous beyond the already outrageous situation!!

Man, you have to call customer service and stomp your feet until have your order splitted! Are you willing to gift them 100$ just like that? On top of already foolish shipping cost??

I'm HOPING that these rates are not final. just place holder numbers for the purposes of the site's functioning shopping system. I've contacted ebay sellers before and the shipping rates they found were far cheaper than the automatic rate that ebay calculated. so hopefully it's something similar here. for the moment I'm holding off on pre ordering, $70 is pretty steep but it only makes the castle $320 that's a lot but compared to other countries it's not so bad.

edit just saw confirmation on the shipping. still not sure but how do they know the weight of it already?? do they know the volume of plastic based on the dimensions? (legitimate question)

UNLESS Mattel and Matty start a European distribution center, I don't think many international fans will order Castle Grayskull at such a gouging price + utterly ridiculous and heavy shipping costs !

I think I'll have to pass on Castle Grayskull, if it goes on like that. And I was NOT planning to pass on it !

It can't be about weight, because I've had heavier and bigger packages shipped from US for significantly less.

Oh well, that was it. It was fun while it lasted, those few days where I thought I would own a Classics Castle Grayskull.

I'll make my own some day instead.

Wow, International Post is actually more expensive than UPS international. But I have to admit, that's it for me. Too expensive. A shame, but the shipping cost is insane.

And I know they are going to say "well guys, you know we tried, but you didn't buy enough to go into production ..."
