Toy Tokyo MOTU Art Show 2012

Well I just got back. It was a lot of fun. We got to play the new iPad masters game. Which will be out in 2 weeks. It will be sold for $1.99. And it looks like fun. If you go to my Facebook page I took exclusive video of BCRDuke playing the game. They had 500 pieces do the TOD for sale with 5 different art prints. He-man, Skeletor, Hiss and 2 different Hordaks. also if you took a pic wearing an Orko hat and put it on Facebook they gave you a cool Tshirt with art work from the new game. Again check my fb page. And Toy Guru himself was there as well.

I took a pic of every thing. I will definitely get that up on this thread tommorow.

I walked away with a sweet pic of Skeley and Hordak fighting

BCRDuke walked away with the artwork on the second new min comic.

Thanks for the links to all the pics, they are awesome! I wish I could have been at the show, I'd have loved to see the stand-up of the Grayskull robot in person! Is that for sale anywhere?

All of the art was incredibly well done and really well priced. If i wasnt so poor id have loved to have snagged the king hiss artwork, i couldnt believe how much had sold so quickly. I didnt stay long and if scott was there i didnt see him, my friends who i dragged along were ansy to leave.

The full sized grayskull robot was awesome, they also had the dungeon pit sticker as a full sized decal on the floor. Managed to get myself the tod sorceress (main reason for going).

Was cool meeting brian ozone, always fun meeting other org members

Interesting side note. There was a full sized mural on sale for the giant battle in the 3rd minicomic (the first splash page i beleive). Anyway, as i was checking it out a few people asked me to explain what was going on in it. They had no idea about the new toyline, bio, or minicomics. The exact question was "where is man at arms?" Theres still a LARGE group of people interested in He-Man who are still unaware of the new toyline/story/comics. MARKETING MATTEL!!!!! C'MON!!

Although I lament this fact it doesn't surprise me. As much as we fans like to think that MOTUC toy collecting is as ubiquitous as corn flakes, and that our wants and wishes should be front and center during planning meetings at Mattel, MOTUC is still very 'underground', if you catch my meaning. Thankfully it makes enough profit to continue on year after year, and a larger multimedia presence would certainly help its profile to the masses, it's not as all-encompassing as we'd like to think it is.

Tri Klops piloting the Roton is an epic piece. That would make for some amazing "box art" if we ever get a MOTUC Roton.
Glad to hear the game is coming out for androids as well. It is sooooo mine

Mattel should offer that Astronaut as a Fathead wall graphic! that'd be amazing. I'd put it in my office at work.

To be fair, the 2 Mattel girls may have still been recovering from my asking them if they were buy one get one free.

I totally agree this is EPIC She-Ra art! Such a shame Scott felt that this stunning piece of art was not good enought to be given away as one of the free prints along with the other art prints (by Alvin Lee ) with the TOD Sorceress. I don't know about anyone else but I really want an art print of this She-Ra. Hopefully the fan that bought it will sell prints. The best in the show!
