tribute to tony guerrero: a MOTUC proposal

i recently read that tony guerrero, the sculptor fo the first he-man prototype,
has passed away: so, i was thinking that would be a nice tribute to his art
if mattel would realize a motuc version of his prototype, or , as
fellow orger SCB's already proposed in the thread "SDCC Exclusive Evolution
    - 2012 Speculation" at least, just the head as a bonus to come packaged
    with oo-lar/alcala he-man.

what do you think about this?
would you appreciate this kind of tribute?

don't know if it's logistically possible, but at least, we could ask toyguru and
the four horsemen to celebrate the work of art of one the "fathers" of the line.

    thanks in advance.

    rest in peace, tony.

Maybe they could add that head to Oo-Larr's accessories like they gave that Alcala head to Demo-Man.

Accessories would be cool, a totally new figure would be awesome too. THey could completely share parts other than the head and helmet. That would be sweet.

Just the head would be fine with me. But I suppose I could also see them making the entire figure a subscription exclusive.

He could be packaged as Oo-Lar on MattyCollector, and come wearing his blond head, and then be packaged as "Guerrero Warrior" for SDCC and come with the head seen above.

Great idea! Either the whole figure, or at least a head. Would love to get it.

Oh yeah, I think it would be a fantastic tribute, as well as giving him the "Real Name: Guerrero" in the bio (as implied above.)

The head would be a nice bonus item with Oo-Lar or just about anybody else, really. Great idea!

Unfortunately, there are a lot of politcs and legalities involved with doign this.
Mattel dones't own the prorotype, and Mattel legal won't let it happen unless they have the original artist signign off the prototype to them. Which, unfortunately, can't happen anymore.
Plus, as stated many times by Scott Neitlich, Mattel is only interested in promoting people that are current employees

    I smell lawsuits.

    ...ahh, the 'price of 'ownership'.

The patrons will suffer for it.

    Why?
They just don't own it and can't prove it's real, why there should be a lawsuit about it?

I probably should have said, 'potential' lawsuits.

I mean, if they were to go ahead and produce the figure, and especially if Mattel were to appropriate the name "Guerrero" as the figure's "Real name" as a 'tribute' to him, without, I suppose, the consent of his owners of estate and/or family. Although I don't see why they'd oppose it, unless those 'rumors' are true that he also designed what would become the original "Barbie" doll without receiving due credit and therefore due monetary payment, among the 'other' rumored preliminary designs he supposedly had involvement in...

    I'm just speculating, of course.

Oh, I got it what you mean.
But things works this way: they woulnd't proceed with anything unless they are 100% sure they are clear legally.
BTW, he was involved in all the first MOTUs, he did sculpt those, it isn't a rumor (unless you're referring to stuff outside MOTU)

Right. Hence the true 'price' of ownership.

    Right. And yes, I was.

    Warrior Warrior

It is not like Mattel to be redundant. Isn't that right, Hordak - Evil Leader of the Evil Horde?

If they can get the rights, absolutely. Outside of the head, the feet/boots are the only other part that would be an issue, the rest is just a He-man body with some extra paint aps on the belt.
Matty, Great Black Wizard figure please!

Well, the fans could always make a custom of the figure. Beside, we could always present it to Mattel whether it's appropriate or not!

If there's so much legal trouble with it, we need re-issues He-Man figure and label it Special Edition in honor of Late Tony Guerrero.
