Not to be rude but that lot of commons is worth about $200 on the best of days.
Nobody is gonna be willing to spend 5 times that like your asking.
Hello, after lurking for a couple of weeks and checking the rules & other user's posts I finally have the guts to post this.
Above are about 2hrs of footage of my He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe collection that I'm selling on eBay. I really don't want to sell them, but I kinda have to due to my financial situations. I'm not gonna give you a sap story about me, but I did want to sell this to fellow He-Man collectors/enthusiasts and as such I also don't want to break up this set so it's being sold all together. I could go into detail here on what this collection includes, but I have already done so in the above YouTube videos and the below eBay link:

I will keep re-listing this collection on eBay until it sells and (at this time) I can't budge on the price. I have sold all my DinoRiders, Popples, Captain Power, and other collections for way less than I wanted to, so I can't on this...this is probably my most prized toy collection from my childhood and I was waiting to sell this one last.Originally Posted by My eBay Listing
And even if you're not interested in buying, you can still enjoy the videos in this post as I go down memory lane. Also, I have some scanning to do so I can post it up on the He-Man.org archives as I have some items that aren't even there yet.
Thanks for watching/reading!

"nintendo2600" eh? I'm a huge Nintendo nut, but I wonder if you know me from somewhere else online (NeoGAF) and that's why you said what you said ('cos no one really liked me there)? To some, this collection may not be worth much, but it will cost me close to $200 just to ship these 3 huge boxes. If I could sell a mere 36 TMNT figures + memorabilia/collectibles for $500, my (2 small + 2 pocket) Popples for $100 and my collection of 8 small Dino Rider sets for over $100 I think I can eventually sell this too. My Captain Power collection (nearly every set) I sold for far less than I think it was worth, so that's why I went up on this MOTU collection.
It is not just a "lot" of "commons"...it's close to 80% of the main collection...great for anyone wanting to start on their way to collecting everything. I have seen lesser collections go for as much on eBay and in worse conditions. Granted, we are basically in a depression, but I see people willing to pay as much for one rare figure...so yes, I think it's worth it, even now. Considering I have memorabilia in this collection that even he-man.org hasn't archived yet, plus I'm not charging for shipping, everything comes in great storage totes and I'm selling it for less than I originally intended I think it's a great price. I could probably even make more money if I were to sell everything individually, but it would probably take too long to sell it all, kill me on shipping eaches, take forever to make that many individual listings and in the end, I would rather do it all together by not breaking up the collection. I want it to go to a fellow collector who wants a big head start on making a complete collection 'cos I no longer can afford to.
I know you think of this collection as lowly and you have a right to, but I get more views than my other eBay listings and I've even gotten a couple of watches on it since I've re-listed it...wish me luck, I know I'll need it!
$1000 is more than I'd spend, but its reasonable considering how much stuff you have. if this was in a scalper comic store, i could see someone asking $3000 for it. good luck.
"everyone always talks about how big and scary snakemen are... well calligars eat people too!"
No I don't know you and I don't think you have a lowely collection, I just think it's way overpriced and thats why nobody even replied in your thread before I did. Shipping is gonna be alot on this batch for sure. I was only speaking in regards to the toys, not what it costs to ship them on top of their worth. I see you do have
alot of figures but you must agree your missing nearly all the rarer figures which is normally what costs the most when building a "set". I didn't notice you have the 2 dinosaurs in there previously so those might bump it up from $200 to $300 but still a far cry from $1000. If your looking to see what it's really worth make a 10 day auction starting at 1 cent with no reserve and let the market decide what the real value is.
Actually I have all 3 dinosaurs. I'm missing Eternia, several vehicles and probably about 20% of the figures. I say as much in the videos, some of the figures I'm missing could easily be obtained and I've even thought of picking some of them up to sweeten the deal since I can't call this a complete collection by any means, but I do call it near complete. Also said in the videos I, personally (I know that many serious collectors do, but I don't), don't count the re-branded items from Europe & Japan (the meteorbs or the giant figures) so even if you take that into consideration I still have a huge collection.
As far as "letting the market decide" I don't consider myself a "business" selling a "product" to a "market" since there is only one collection I'm selling, nor do I really think that tallies what the collection is worth. To me, it's worth more than what I'm selling it for, to you it's worth less...to someone else it could be any range of worth and it's less about what I actually sell it for and more about timing, the economy, the potential amount of buyers and the then finally the one who actually wins the final bid. Just because you're the first person to reply to this thread doesn't mean you're the only person who's seen the listing. In fact I've already gotten a couple of eBay watchers and many to view on my eBay itself, YouTube, facebook and here.
