So wait. Now that just here we have 501 pre-orders, that means we have given Mattel $125,250.00 for Castle Grayskull alone with out meeting the goal! Am I the only one here who is beginning to think that the suits at Mattel Corporate are getting too greedy or are setting quite unreasonable goals for a Collector's Toy Line? I am of the honest belief that Mattel just doesn't care about the MOTU property & Scott is the only one fighting to keep it in the minds of the people and they issue these insane goals for him to meet.

Well, they have to pay the 4 Horseman for their work on the Castle from that amount, and Rudy Obrero for the new art for the box. They need to make molds of all the pieces, and pay for production of the castle in China, and the printing of the box in wherever. I imagine some part of Ruben's salary will be paid out of it as well, and maybe even some of Scott's (though I seem to remember reading that he more or less does his work on MOTUC in his spare time). I'm sure there are lots if people working logistics on this line that we don't even know about who have some part of their salary coming out if this.

Anyway, after all that, no I don't think Mattel is making all that much off the castle. Hopefully, the 500+ we've tallied up on the org is actually only a small portion of the total units sold. Regardless if what you think of the other people involved in making Grayskull a reality, I want the 4 Horsemen and their assistants to be well-compensated for their wonderful work.

Hmmm....the thermometer has not moved in a couple days. I know the thermometer doesn't actually mean crap, since we have no idea how it is scaled or what each tick mark represents. But still, it makes me feel better when I see it move. Hope the lack of movement is just laziness on Matty's part and not because sales have been so slow it's not even worth updating. *cringe*

Really? Matty seems to think it's been updated? Though it's harder to tell where the end is than how many are filled, so maybe people are counting the marks differently.
