Custom MOTUC / Filmation Style Hordak by INSIDIOUS CUSTOMS

Hey gang, just wanted to share a few pics of one of the many backlogged MOTUC customs that I finally finished. While I'm usually a vintage purist, there's just something about the Filmation colors of Hordak that work for me. Here's the result. Stop by my blog http://insidiouscustoms.blogspot.com...uc-mashup.html if you want to see more pics and learn more about his construction. Hope you dig him.

Turned out great! I really like the detailing on the face!
It is spelled "Crita", not "Critta". Misspell her name and Crita will knock the "T" out of you!

    Also...get her into the line!

Thanks! The face was one of the main drivers of this piece. Hordak's "paper-white mask of evil" as They Might Be Giants would say.

The washes are awsome is that air brushed or hand painted ? real nide the lazer arm is what sets this one over the top for me cause normally Filmation customs just dont do it.

Thanks! As you can see in the photos below, the blast is a clear tinted plastic rod that I custom tailored to fit in the canon. The lighting effects on it were achieved by shining a laser pointer into the rod. You can find a great tutorial on these types of effects at ActionFigurePics.com. I think it looks cool even without the laser lighting it up.

I love how you kept the original Hordak head. Most customs use a different version or they go for more pf a cartoony FM look. The original head sculpt is what dragged me into this line in the first place. I really could care less if we got a FM Hordak, but if he looked like yours, he would definitely be welcome in my collection!!! Great job!!

That is the best Hordak action figure I have ever seen. I wish this were mass-produced and widely available!

This is great, just how I hope Mattel would do it.

After hearing Scott's comments on focusing on releasing "new" characters (as opposed to variants) on the last episode of Council of the First Ones, I just can't see Matty releasing this version of Hordak. It's a shame because I even surprised myself with how much I like this configuration and deco. Thanks again for the comments, gang.

Only a few hours left on the auction for this one, gang or he'll become a permanent part of my collection. Get him before someone else does!
