As you all know Gbagok won the Sir Laser Lot challenge! Congrats dude. Look for your entry to join the hall of fame on facebook this weekend. Also congrats to everyone who entered, there were A LOT of REALLY great ideas being tossed around and that is what this is all about! :-)

For this round we have moved to a villian from outer space! You all voted for him in our last poll... that's right it is KARRATI! I have included a few images of him below but feel free to add more reference images below as well as your entries for the contest.

So let the games begin!


HERE WE GO!!!!




- All people who choose to participate will have 30 days to come up with a redesign for this character.

-You can use ANY medium you wish! You can sketch, paint, make a 3-D model,
make a sprite, make a custom action figure, whatever you want. Its entirely up to you!

-While you are more then welcome to post WIP pics and multiple images in the thread, only ONE image file will be used in the final poll so please indicate which picture you post you want to be that picture. If you don't indicate we will choose for you and it will likely be the last image you have posted. MOTU

-You don't have to force yourself to make your design conform to the new OR OLD cartoon & comic book's style.
Be as drastic in your redesign as you see fit. Whatever makes you happy, all that is necessary is that you add something all-NEW,
however big or small, to the characters visual appearance.

-If you can't think of a new design, or just hate the idea of working on this character,
you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this particular challenge.
You will still be free to participate in any future challenges you wish.

These redesign thingies are way too addictive... I'm in!

One question, though... Is "Crystoll" (Karatti concept) to be considered a separate character and thus not used as a base for this challenge? IMHO, Crystoll is so visually different that he deserves redesign challenge of his own..

I am bowing out of this and all future redesign challenges (at least for the foreseeable future). They have been fun but I just don't feel like doing them anymore.

Karrati looked cool in NA advertisements, but first version of toy was totally disappointment. I like his character as a more slender, agile villain, who hit and run to deep strike before enemy has time to react. And I always figured him as a rasta man.

Hi everyone I didn't know much about this character I didn't watch this version but here what I came up with. Hope you like it and I was early this time. And I liked toys that you could take the helmet off so I made a version with and without. Karrati without helmet.jpgKarrati with helmet.jpg

My entry:

As i said before, Karatti has never been one of my favorites but he is a cool character and with his weird colors very MOTU if you ask me.

I haven´t changed a lot and stayed very close to his vintage action figure.

His beaten up armor gives a lot details, i think he may not be the best fighter but he isn´t willing to give up and he can take a punch. I totally like that used, patched up and worn out look his armor has. Totally "VINTAGE"

His dreadlocks give him that 90-ies prisoners look. I love it!

His original design shows some tubes but most of are colored in the same color as his armor. I gave them all the same black plastic look like the ones on his chest, in my mind his armor is hydraulic supported, to give his punches some extra power.

I like his blade just added some spikes to make it an even more dangerous weapon. I know he actually doesn´t need a weapon but since he had it anyway i thought why not use it.

Here is my redesign. I gave him multiple weapons and multiple limbs. I also gave him a third eye to focus his chi....

Cool design it Zargon reminds me of Goro from Mortal Kombat. You gave him a third eye to I was thinking the same thing since he a sort of mystical far east type character.
