The black stain on Netossa's net.

After the swapped forearms for Frosta, Mattell has another great design choice: the black stain on Netossa's net.
On the left the Fwoosh review and on the right the Pixel Dan review:

We're so lucky that they improved the quality as they promised during the subscription campaign!

Another "that's the only Netossa produced so take it or sell it"?

To me it looks like the "dent" in the net prevents her head from tilting forward, the hair gets a little bit more space in the back. I also think the dark spray brings out a nice shadow effect under her hair, brings out some contrast. The cape would look very flat without any weathering. The dark spray could have been applied a little differently though, but I'm not really ready to call foul on this one, or bring out the sarcasm-arsenal

Meh, this won't hurt my enjoyment of this figure at all. It's on the back, under the hair.

So we've seen one figure with a QC issue, so that means every figure has a QC issue?

So we're sure that this is with 100% of the figures that will be sent out?
Right or wrong, buying a sub tells Mattel you want more MOTUC figures. Not buying does tells them you don't. Don't let MOTUC end early because you might not like their marketing strategy! Plus polls show you won't regret subbing!

I started this thread because it's on two figures, on the left the Fwoosh review and on the right the Pixel Dan review...
I hope that it's a samples issue but...

I think it is likely intentional, probably an attempt at shading or something.
It is spelled "Crita", not "Critta". Misspell her name and Crita will knock the "T" out of you!

    Also...get her into the line!

I think it's the paint of the net reacting negatively to either the paint used for the hair, or the solution used to release parts from the mold, which these figures are notorious for not being rid of the way they are supposed to. I highly doubt it was a design choice. What of people who want to pose her holding the net? That would be a pretty poor design choice imo, esspecially since her net is her weapon, so many folks will likely want to pose her holding it instead of wearing it.

Wasn't planning on displaying her with her cape, so not a big deal for me. Matty gets brownie points for trying to recreate her cape for the classics line, but my personal opinion is that it didn't come out very well.
Classics TGR figures should be Filmation-based, but they NEED MORE COWBELL!

Even though her hair covers it, how did it turn black? The paint schemes are blue? Even with pressure from her hair, it shouldn't change the color of the net...really?

This. I don't think it's a stain at all. I think it's supposed to be the shadow left by her hair on the cape.

It seems odd it would be shading but it seems odd not to be intentional. I wonder if it's there to somehow prevent the netting from reacting to the paint on her hair? Who knows. Kind of just speculation at this point.

The shading only works when her cape is on.
The darkness is supposed to be where her hair is over the cape, creating a shadow.

Looking at it in hand, it definitely does look intentional. I'm not entirely sure what it is either. I suppose it could be a shadow from her hair. I didn't otice it until I took the cape off. That spot is also dented in, which could very well be from her hair pressing up against it while int he blister. But it does seem to be a black "spray" of some sort, like it was done on purpose.

Umm...if they wanted a shadow from the hair...wouldn't the hair create a natural shadow? Why paint a shadow?
Seems silly...as it looks like a mistake when she's using it "as her weapon" like Matty says.

It's blaster marks for a future story line where she gets shot in the back.

It does look like it's supposed to be shading from the videos. It's odd though since they haven't done this with any other figure.

Not that it bothers me, but why on earth would it be "shadow shading?" Her hair would cover the spot if you looked at her from the back, and if you look at her from the front the spot would be behind her torso, so you wouldn't see it there, either.

The only time you'd see it is when you'd take it off to use as a net, in which case her hair wouldn't be casting a shadow there anyway...

It doesn't bother me as I feel without the cape on, she looks silly. But it can't be shading, can it? Remember this is her accessory she is supposed to take it off and use it. So why the big spot?

Like I said I'll never display her without the cape, but if it is shading, I don't get the logic.

Yeah, it just doesn't make sense as a hair shadow. Light will create that if it's needed. My guess is that maybe it's to protect the plastic still, like they were having a bad reaction between the hair paint and the plastic. I just know I've had toys with softer plastic in the past that "lift off" paint from toys surrounding it if you're not careful. Of course, if that were the case, I'd be worried to stand Netossa next to other figures! So I hope that's not it.
