Power-Con 2013: Sept. 14-15 in Torrance, CA - w/ 2012 Video Promo and Recap!

After two successful years, the POWER-CON will return September 14th and 15th, 2013 to the Torrance Marriott South Bay, in Torrance, California. Not only will Power-Con still encompass the worlds of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, and the ThunderCats, but it will now be raising some shell by including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the celebration!

The lean, mean, and green fighting machines will be given the same attention and love He-Man, She-Ra, and the ThunderCats have received during Power-Con’s first two outings. As the fans who have attended previously will attest, this is a convention that caters directly to the fans by bringing in the top talent involved with the properties you love, extensive programming and panels during the entire weekend, vendors that have the collector in mind, and even an opportunity to dine with the creators and thespians who helped bring these beloved properties to life.

Hotel reservation information is coming soon which will include a discounted room rate for Power-Con attendees. Make sure to keep an eye out for this announcement as our hotel block sold out quickly last year before the show. With the inclusion of the Turtles, we expect an even faster sell-out.

Yay another one on the west coast, glad im on the east coast! I mean reallly! G.i. Joes conventions roam. Guess the admin behind ours are to afraid it will fail if we had a roaming convention. Glad its not close to the san diego con in date and location....oh wait

I understand your feeling since I'm in the middle, but it is MUCH easier and MUCH cheaper for them to get guests and artists to come to these conventions when it is held closer to where those people actually live.

NY would have been easier for me due to other travel plans. Shame, but hope it shapes up to be an awesome con anyway.

Very cool, I went to my first PowerCon this year and it was fun! I was afraid that a NY show next year would prevent me from going, so this works out nicely for me. I'm only about an hour away from Torrance and should be able to make it again in 2013. Next time, I'll have to save up...I had to skip out on a lot of cool stuff because I was low on my MOTUC budget. This also means I'll have a chance to pick up Strobo early, too!

Since I didn't go on vacation this year, my vacation fund for next year will be twice as much. I'm really going to try and go in 2013. September is a great month for me.

I too was expecting 2013 Power Con to be held on the East coast and am sorry for the East coast He-Fans and She-Ravers, but personally am very happy to hear it is returning to Torrance again - I've had a blast the last two years and will definitely return in '13!

2012 was my first year and I enjoyed the show a great deal. I'm admittedly extremely spoiled in being able to 'mash up' my collecting genres at a place like SDCC every year, but this more acutely focused show is no less valid for what it seeks to do. In fact, this year was a much needed boost after the nail-biter that was the 2013 subs. I'd begun to think interest in MOTU was on the wane. However, attending this show quickly reminded me that fandom is still very much alive with adoring fans abounding. The highlight being the show floor itself, getting to see great customs, listen to Emiliano and the Horsemen talk shop, meet more than a few of the 'Collection Intervention' folks manning booths as well as just walking the floor, and a host of other memorable experiences. Time and the wife permitting, I'll be back in 2013!
