He covers his face when he tans.
On my vintage He-Man the face is much lighter in skin tone than the body. Every one on ebay seems to be like that, more or less. Is this something on all original He-Man figures, or do some have a good matching skin tone?

By the ancients!!!
He covers his face when he tans.
Never really noticed that but I guess it would be normal since the materials are different and also aged.
Also he covers his face when he tans.

The way I figure it..
Eternia has a bright side and a dark side, because the planet rolls perpendicuar ..or laterally from its star.
This means that nighttime darkness is a daily eclipse from Eternias two moons.
But a more direct ..or constant exposure, to the radiant light of the star, reqires an alert understanding.
This is likely taught in schools, and passed on from generations of Eternians ..or creature people.
So if one lays on the beach ..or tanning bed, one would inately put a towel over ones face.
If not we would have 'FLASH-BLINDNESS HE-MAN' as a toy.

I noticed this on my MEXICO stamped He-Man. I am willing to bet that's what yours is. My Malaysia, Taiwan, and France He-Man figures have perfect skin.
I cannot provide a reason as to why it happens but it is not too uncommon.
