The SHOUT! American set (one episode displays a distracting line breaking the image)
The LACE UK set
The MADMAN Australian set (pretty good, as someone stated before)
The German DVD set, soon to be transferred on BD format.
What's the best set in terms of video quality and transfer?
About SHOUT, I saved this review:
"Got my set in yesterday and love it! I can see a huge difference in picture quality between my UK/AU sets. The colors look great. On some episodes they look a little washed, but I know that is due to age. I noticed on Volume 3 Disc-2 the episode The Lost Riches of Rio has a constant tracking line in the middle of the episode from time to time. Was there no way to get around that or was it missed in the remastering. Was there suppose to be a booklet in the complete set? You guys usually do that. I really wish there was one with all of the MASK agent artwork like in the French DVD set. Other than that Brian you have made this MASK fan very happy. Now back to M.A.S.K."

Looks like SHOUT > MADMAN > GERMAN > LACE.
The Germans used the digital masters from the French release.

I'd say the Madman sets since it has the racing episodes. Also, it doesn't have the line in The Lost Riches of Rio.
Thanks for posting this as I was slightly disappointed that the Racing Team series wasn't included. And I would feel safe to say that you need some kind of region free player for this Madmen set??? Have never really tinkered in this area...

I don't know if it is "the best" as it is the only one I have seen but I own this one
which contains all 75 episodes (that includes the racing ones of course)
Sure there are no extras, just an episode selection, but the picture and audio is great and as long as I get to watch my toons I don't much care about extras.
also at £8.00 (or $13) it is quite the little bargain
Many complained about judder, bits of flicker on it.
Look at The Lost Riches Of Rio.
When the Camera is moving to the house in the woods, it has some juddering (skipping).
(this happens only when the camera moves).
in the German version, this doesn't happen.

there might be a bit juddering now and then but it isn't distracting at all. I would give it

SHOUT!, the French/German and the Aussie release have no juddering anyway.
