Uh, I hate goopy uneven paint, makes it even worse since I am a customizer....I hate when someone who's getting paid to do their job it can't take a minute to paint something right. I have noticeably uneven and off line paint on my BA Skeletor armor, and it bugs me, but I am not touching my personal collection aside from swapping wrong forearms and fixing loose joints....I at least expect the dang things to be able to stand even if they can't be painted correctly....but can't even get that. But at least the last of the 2012 figures were pretty tight jointed.

I don't have a beastman or Teela in hand to compare...but my vote is for MAA. I got him because he was a vintage figure, but he is now one of my favorite classics. I love his detail.
My He-Man has sword and shield, with the axe on his back....BA He-Man holds the axe!
MAA is probably my fav fig out of the first 8. All the weapons, armor and two heads was awesome and I really wish they could have kept the line going with that kind of attention. Mer man is next and then Teela. My problem with Teela though is she never really looked like the cartoon which is the way I was introduced to the toys. He Man and Skeletor turned out just like I would expect and are wonderful. Beast Man has the colors..I like bright colors. Then there is Stratos and Zodac..which are ok, I dont think I had Stratos as a kid.
Mer-Man for me. Growing up I was always disappointed that he didn't look like his cardback but he was still one of my favorite figures/characters. When the classics version came out I bought 2 just so I could display both versions.

The vintage Mer-Man was almost a different figure in comparison, and MAA looked so different simply because his paint scheme was altered...

Zodac, i had such a fascination with him as a kid. I would cut out all those card back figures and keep them in a MOTU wallet i had. I played with them almost as much as the real figures. Did anyone else do this?
Wow...That cardback image really takes me back! I can remember staring at that artwork with awe when I was a child. I blame this image for my current MOTUC collection, I just had to have the Original Eight and it all spiraled out of control after that, heheh!
I agree that MOTUC Mer-Man is like finally getting the figure we kept seeing in the artwork. I normally keep the vintage head on him but I think I'll swap it for his cardback head soon. I still like MAA and Beast-Man just a bit better, though. They're all amazing figures, it's too hard to pick just one!

Too Funny....Stratos is the figure I'm most disappointed with so far. He is just so "Blah"
It's a toss-up between Man-At-Arms and Mer-Man.
They are both SO well done. And I love the cross-sell Mer-Man head.
Teela would be in there too but the closed left hand bothers me, as does the head floating slightly above the neck lol.... still, she's a GREAT figure!!!

I feel bad for Stratos. He it's a figure that needs redone IMO. The 200X version is far superior to the vintage version. The classics version is nice but it's TOO vintage to me.
Aw man, who can decide? I mean...it's Man-At-Arms, but I LOVE all of 'em! I was really excited about Zodac and Skeletor too! Yes, even Stratos with his two open hands and head that can't look up while he's flying.
Hide & Seek Hordak does nothing to make collecting fun.
They're all well done, but I have to go with Mer-Man, simply because I always loved that cardback design and wanted that in figure form.

The original eight are all my favorites...I have the fondest memories of them. Choosing one is impossible for me. But if I had to choose to only keep...half...yikes...
He-Man, Skeletor, Beastman and Mer-Man. Hurts to dump the others, but you gotta love the villains.

Gotta say Mer-Man; getting the never produced head from the original cardback really made that figure. Now we need Mattel to sneak in a Filmation head with somebody...
