Damn...I was holding out for a TPB and JUST bought all 8 issues 3 days ago. Never fails.

That sucks the other digital shorts aren't included though.

Also...Despera's a crazy ass *****! Funny story: that cover is pretty much exactly how I envisioned the opening of a Direct-To-Video She-Ra movie...except replace Grayskull with the Crystal Castle, Despera with Hordak and He-Man with She-Ra.

I'm looking forward to the new Horde storyline, but not digging the name for Adora's horde identity. It just sounds stupid, in my opinion. It's a play on the word despair, which makes it sound forced.

I'm looking forward to the ongoing series, but I was honestly a little off-put by the developments regarding Orko in the miniseries. I can see where it would be hard to utilize classic Orko in a series with a more serious tone, but the stuff with Orko reeeeeeeaallly stretches my disbelief.

I like it for that very reason. Plus, it doesn't make a ton of sense why Hordak would have her keep her name. Then again, if you are hiding twins from their evil father it makes perfect sense to let one of them keep the same last name

This is getting very big , we get an Ongoing series and I think the MOTU DC comics should have a own sub forum (in MOTUC section), all thread of this comics are lost in that section,just an opinion.

I think that'll happen when all of the comic talk gets overwhelming, like all of the "Official ______________ Threads" did some years ago. Since everyone wanted to champion getting a character created, it drowned out all other discusssion to the point that people complained and Val had to create a new forum just for support threads.

Very disappointed that only Digital Issue 1 will be included in the trade. I can not stand digital comics, and was hoping to get them all in paper form.

still cant believe, after all these years they've finally realized what could be the potential for this brand, plus not including THE HORDE at the very beginning of the 200x wasn't a clever move (I expect them to be introduced in a hopeful sequel if the 1st movie is succesful)
and those beasts in the background reminds me of those giant elephants in LOTR 2 towers...

Yeah, Orko having been a 'villain in disguise' the entire time sounds a little unlikely. I've been wondering if Orko's exposure to the magic of that whacko skull that Orko accidentally used to warp reality in the MOTU: Orko digital only book may have been involved in his switch to the darkness. That would be the only thing that might make sense to me.



I still think the name 'Despara' is weak. I like Adora's more realistic portrayal of what she became after living under the Horde since childhood. Being the commander of a death battalion is more realistic than just being a gruff commander who doesn't look the part at all(filmation concept). I like the portrayal, but don't dig the name.

Now as this much as this is a continuation of that limited series I really hope it does stray a little from that story cause so much was warped it really made it average and not so great. But from Cover 1 to 3 of this ongoing I'M LOVING the potential this has! Horde is BRINGING IT and now we can appreciate the scale of evil this faction is! Thus ain't yo 80's He-Man and I'm starting to like it!

As for Despara, I can't see why any would think THIS IS NOT one of the best new / original concepts for Adora. Just let me indulge you...

As Adora was growing thru the ranks of The Horde, yeah she became Force Captain (a la Filmation) for some time and with just her continued aggressive behavior and aptitude in these battles and conquest, it's only the next progressive step by Hordak to take his daughter from a 'teen terror' to an 'adult horror'...thus the reason for Despara; this is Adora's graduation day!!! I think this rather by far one of the best new ideas for the line and this will definitely make Adora's transition back to a Heroine that much more Epic in my book.

Too bad they're holding out on the digital comics as I would like to read those considering those seem to be highly received more than the limited series. I liked the mini but it fell flat and not because Orko supposedly became evil either.... There's more to that!

LOL... No name on the MOTUC universe is like that, right? "He-man", "Moss-man", "She-ra"...etc... Really!?
