Make it so Number One....
Who's first?
This thread is dedicated to my favorite MOTUC items, counting down from least favorite to favorite. There will be a short review with my thoughts on each figure along with pictures. These items will strictly be standard Matty-released (ie no TRU variants or SDCC variants; Mo-Larr will also not be included as he is more of a "joke" character). Newly released figures will be worked into the countdown accordingly.
NOTE: This is just another way to enjoy and spread my love of MOTUC with the fandom here at the .Org. Feel free to comment and discuss my pictures and rankings, but please keep it positive and constructive. There is no agenda and no need to be rude based on my own personal likes and tastes. I photographed ALL of these photos. Please have the courtesy to ask before spreading them elsewhere.
Let the countdown begin!

Space Man Vykron
The Space Man version of Vykron is the worst figure in the line. It looks beyond cheap and it is simply the figure I have very little love for. There are a plethora of issues with the figure. For example, the attachments do not snap on well. I have to make sure I leave them on because it’s absolute hell trying to snap them back on once removed. The leg guard attachments beyond limit leg articulation as well. Even worse, the plastic used on Space Man seems very brittle and cheap, and the backpack is gummy and too small, if not out-of-scale with the figure. And I’m still not sure what that diaper-looking piece is that goes around his waist; it is very ugly and unflattering as is most the figure. Glad the figure is in the line, but could have definitely been executed much, much better.

Battleground Evil-Lyn
Why Mattel did not do a proper Evil Lyn variant over this “half-200x” version is baffling. With the exception of a new head, cape, and paint job, the figure is nothing new. As other fans have stated or asked, why couldn’t they have simply done a new 200x tunic for her? Was it THAT much over budget? Though the figure does have a beautiful paint job, and that new head and cape are quite nice, Battleground Evil Lyn ultimately seems more like a tease and missed opportunity for Mattel to capitalize on the demand for a 200x version.
She bad (the character, that is - or do I mean the figure?)

I definitely would not put her last on my list, but she'd be close. She's an excellent figure on her own, but I think you nailed it when you said she was just a tease. Definitely one of the biggest misses in the line.
The unhelmeted head sculpt is so perfect, though.

"We have a Ram-Man"
The reason I recall being given in a RGD episode was that that the Horsemen held off on a 200X tunic in order to use the female 2.0 body. Apparently when she was in development it was before the 2.0 body had been developed for BP She-ra and they figured that people would want the 200X version to have a waist twist and all that. Seeing as how things are now, I would have preferred that we had just gotten the 200X tunic on the original body.
For me anyway I like this figure, but I'm probably in the minority. I can't stand the yellow skinned version, never did really care for it even as a kid.
Its is spelled "Crita", not "Critta". Misspell her name and Crita will knock the "T" out of you!
Also...get her into the line!
Most needed characters before MOTUC ends...
Heroic: Extendar / Lizard Man / Eldor / Miro
Evil: Strongarm / Evilseed/ Two Bad
POP: Glimmer / Angella / Madame Razz & Broom / SeaHawk / Kowl / Lookee
Horde: Scorpia / Imp / Modulok/ Entrapta / Vultak/ Horde Trooper
SnakeMen: Tung Lashor / Ssqueeze
Rock People: Granita
NA: Darius / Hydron / Flogg / Mara / Sebrian

Aww, I like BG Evil Lyn! I got her as my definitive EL and nearly passed on the yellow "vintage" version until the very end of my catching up. I like her pale skin tone better and the alternate head was really nice. I agree that she was a huge missed opportunity to have a true 200X version which would've made her stand out from the classic vintage Teela attire. Still, I wouldn't rank her at the bottom of the list just for that...There are a couple of figures that I care less about and wouldn't mind sending to the Slime Pit first.
Too bad you're not counting SDCC variants or else Dental Decay Skeletor could've been a contender. I mean, c'mon...He got his own bio but Prince Adam didn't?!![]()

Wun-Dar
Facing facts, the figure is nothing than a repaint with different armor and one piece of new tooling: a loaf of bread. Yep, just a loaf of bread. While it is indeed cool that we finally have a chance to own the mythic or legendary “Wonderbread He-Man,” isn’t there something else Mattel could have given us with the figure? Maybe an alternate head? It’s really hard to pass this figure off as a new character when he is IDENTICAL to He-Man, save Zodac armor, brown hair, and a darker tan. We already have Faker, and now ANOTHER new character in the form of a He-Man repaint? Though there have been rumors/talk regarding a future alternate head released in the future, this is something we should have received in the first place to make this “new” character stand out a little more. Don’t get me wrong, the paint job and nod to the mysterious “Savage He-Man” are nice, but unfortunately, that nod and the paint job are about all this figure is worth at this point.
The Savage-Warrior-WonderBread-He-Man, Wun-Dar!

WHOA. I'm surprised. I really like both of these figures. They certainly wouldn't be behind Vykron, Spector, Cy-Chop, Carnivus, Zodac, etc. in my opinion (not that I dislike those figures, I just think these are better).
A Want List of Sorts:
Rokkon, Stonedar, Nepthu, Plundor, Sea Hawk, Strong-Arm, Dactys, Horde Troopers, Storm, Geldor, Modulok, Battle Ram, Kowl, Loo-Kee, Hydron, Glimmer, Eldor, Two Bad, Ninjor, Rio Blast, Mermista, Entrapta, Sweet Bee, Peekablue, Flutterina, Gorpo, Flogg, Crimson Fury, Songster, Lodar, Kex Queen, Goat Man, Darius, Uncle Montork, Dree-Elle
I like the unhelmeted head as well.

I hear you. Yeah, I'm just going with Matty releases, including sub figures. I think Adam will one day get a bio, perhaps for a 200x Adam.

I think you'll continue to be shocked.

Yeah, I feel that Wun-Dar is underwhelming as an exclusive and not worth the high prices that he's listed at on eBay. Repainting a standard He-Man with the Weapons Pack Zodac armor will pretty much do the same thing with only the ridiculous loaf of bread missing. If anything, the Map of Eternia is the only saving grace to this figure, IMO.
I like Wun-Dar
Last unannounced faves: Two Bad, Tung Lashor, Squeeze, Modulok, Horde Trooper, Blast Attack

Captain Glenn
At no point, to my knowledge, has Captain Glenn ever been donned in green before this figure. I’m sure that most fans, particularly me, wanted the true Filmation “white” Captain Glenn. Every time I see this figure, whether it’s on my shelf or in pics online, I just feel sour about her release. What doesn’t help is that the face seems to be painted poorly on every figure I’ve seen. The helmet is also flimsy and does not fit that well; though it will “stay” in place, the entire piece comes off easily if handled much at all. Moreover, other than the helmet piece and a cool ’87 movie-accurate rifle/blaster, the figure is basically Adora with a Teela head and swapped boots. I realize the gimmick was to transform the figure into Queen Marlena, but I think that gimmick wasn’t worth leaving out a new head sculpt and choosing to make her green over white.
It's beginning to look a lot like Green Marlena.

I'm not disagreeing with any of the flaws you mention here, but I'm somewhat shocked that you have so many issues with the figures you are calling your 10 favorite.

I love this thread! I know I won't come close to agreeing with your ordering of the figures, but you're dead-on with your insights. Loving all of these pictures, too. Did you photograph 105 figures, or are these cobbled from various threads over the years?
Yeah, I'm also enjoying the photography in this topic, it's a cool countdown!
Y'know...I forgot about Captain Glenn! I always have her displayed as Queen Marlena with the royal family. I didn't think much about her until I recently saw the Filmation episode, The Rainbow Warrior. Did her green space uniform ever show up anywhere?
These are ALL my pictures. They have taken quite the amount of time. I haven't done all of them yet, though I have the majority. Some date back from last April, while some are very recent. Taking the pictures during my time off has helped to take my mind off personal matters. I have enjoyed doing it. I am quite happy with the results. Most of the pics are all natural, no adjustment. Thanks for the words.

Thanks for the kind words. I've never seen the green "look" anywhere else.

Very cool countdown for sure. The fun is seeing how other fans feel about certain figures.

Hurricane Hordak
Hurricane Hordak comes from the vintage line, and I love the vintage line, but this figure is pretty underwhelming. Like many fans, not a big fan of having a dial sculpted (a large one at that) as part of the figure when the dial doesn’t even work. It’s a nice nod to the vintage action feature, but really serves no other purpose and isn’t all that aesthetically pleasing, either. The figure is essentially nothing more than a cape-less Hordak repaint with a vac-metalized armor piece and arm canon with attachable weapons. The figure’s paint job is nice (with the vac-metal being the highlight in that department), and the attachable, interchangeable weapons are great to have. But without that original action feature, which was one of the main highlights of the vintage figure as a child (or still is as an adult!), there is room left to be desired.
I like the old me better.

Awesome thread, man! I will definitely be keepin tabs on this til the very end of it.
I know everyone has a different order of favorites and that's just another reason why MOTU is tops! Just because he ranked these figures near 100 doesn't mean he doesn't like them. I like them all too, but it's hard to do a list like this. My lists change EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to do any sort of list involving MOTU. It's just the way it is.
Keep em coming and great pics!
