    Grizzlor

Beyond happy Mattel went truly classic here and gave Grizzlor the fur. It wouldn’t have been the same without it. The face sculpt is updated quite well, with Grizzlor now looking more ferocious compared to the vintage figure. The added arsenal of weapons on the pack is also very welcome, and the fact that it’s basically hidden unless we turn the figure around really helps to keep the figure’s vintage design intact while having an extra cool feature. I would have preferred the limbs to be more in line, size and sculpt-wise, with the vintage figure, but the basic “beast” buck’s arms and legs work okay here, so it’s a minor quibble.

Who needs smaller arms and legs?

This is your best photo of all the photos so far. In fact, this is the best MOTUC photo I have ever seen. Simply stunning!!

Grizzlor looks absolutely menacing in this photo and it really captures his personality. Bravo!

    Shadow Weaver

What on earth is my problem with the beloved Shadow Weaver? Quite frankly, I think the face/paint/sculpt of that area could have been more detailed and better. I also have never liked the design choice of the “lines” sculpted around the pelvis area. It’s just not flattering. Nevertheless, despite my nitpicks, it is awesome to have this character in the line. The accessories are great, so is the rest of the sculpt, though I think my favorite aspect of the figure is the overall paint job (aside from the face) – I love the color chosen and believe it makes the character even more ominous.

I got lines around my pelvis and I know it!

I'm happy to see Buzz-Off ranking so high. I think they really hit him out of the ballpark. Only thing I'd change is make the eyes more metallic teal like the original.

    Demo-Man

Many folks are pretty negative when it comes to Demo-Man, though I’m not sure why. I have no issue with this figure at all. Some have complained about the green being too bright, but I think it helps set it apart from other figures, giving it more uniqueness. The overall sculpt is great, the accessories are fantastic. There are no flaws with this figure other than the fact that some people have not gotten their favorite character before this concept one in figure form. Of course, like most others, I want to be sure we get to all the main characters and vintage figures, but Demo-Man is a nice figure that is pretty flawless in execution.

So cool and bright, you gotta wear shades.

I had Orko as a kid but the toy looked pretty goofy to me, more like one of his wacky cousins from Trolla! Still he was an important character even if he didn't really fight much in my toy adventures. I agree that the new sculpt looks great, as if he popped out of a Filmation cartoon. I didn't care for the translucent color-changing version`at all, just the regular one. Prince Adam coming along for the ride was a nice bonus too!

Mekaneck is a perfect translation of his vintage figure, which is my preferred look for him. He was always one of my main Heroic Warriors, so I'm very happy to have him in my displays and being able to extend his neck without twisting his waist! He's up there as a core character on my list and one of the 2012 figures that I was afraid of missing during DOS!

I loved Roboto as a kid, he was just an invincible robot that took everyone out in battle. The reversed shoulders on this new version isn't even noticeable to me but I do see tiny fractures along the shoulder joints. It's not so bad and he looks neat with all the working gears and stuff. I only wish that his torso looked a little more bulky. I love that 2nd pic, he looks like he came out of Tron!

I never had Mosquitor and almost don't count him as a Horde member because I barely heard anything about him before. He wasn't a priority to me but I'm impressed by how neat he turned out. There's a lot of creepiness sculpted in him and he's earned his spot in my Horde display. I don't miss the 200X blood tanks but wouldn't mind seeing them in a future weapons pack.

Spikor was always a dull villain to me. It just seems like his deadliest attack is hugging you, heheh! The idea of him being Skeletor's main blacksmith at Snake Mountain is nice except that I kinda got used to Tri-Klops being the technological weapons master, thanks to the 200X series. Sadly, Spikor ranks pretty low on my list of Evil Warriors.

Vikor is an awesome barbarian figure and the only He-Man concept character that should've been made, IMO. He trumps Vykron in nearly every regard. Vykron wasn't even a He-Man in the bios while Vikor protected the savage Northern regions against cool villains. I always think of the dynamic fantasy art of Frazzeta or Vallejo whenever I see Vikor!

Castle Grayskullman is one of the best new figures to be introduced. My first impression was kinda meh because of his simple design and name. However, once I read more details about him, saw the cool vintage nods in his accessories, and especially seeing that fun video of him swinging the Jawbridge around...I became a big fan. Castle Grayskullman is one of the 30th Anniversary figures that succeeded in the goal of expanding the MOTU brand with creative and fun new characters, IMO!

What, I'm still not caught up?! Cool, that means more fun pics to look at!

Keep them coming! Love this thread! The last few pages have been drool worthy, especially the Grizzlor pics. He's an evil Chewbacca in my mythos. Still the warden of Beast Island, but he's equally good with his crossbow, blades, or bare hands.

    Dekker

Numerous people crap on Dekker, but again, I can find no fault with this figure. Sure, it wasn’t a figure the overwhelming majority of us were hoping for, but it is a character from the mythos, and Mattel and the Horsemen nailed it. Everything about this figure is spot-on, with a great sculpt and paint job. The second head is a nice addition as well, but it is the older head that is always on display in my collection. Fantastic figure.

    Underrated old man.

Buzz-Off was a childhood favourite of mine. For whatever reason, that doesn't hold true in MOTUC so much. I do tend to display him with the helmet slightly up, mimicking the vintage toy and minicomics. Overall, this is one of the rare instances that I prefer the 200x look, although I don't mind the head sculpt on this one.
Love the Griffin and it's definitely worthy of a high ranking.
I was going to sell Demo Man, but then I got Vikor and found a new appreciation for him when they're displayed together. Still don't think he's the greatest figure in the world, but I like him in the context of Vikor, and the concepts that started the franchise. Looking forward to Red Beast.
Grizzlor - personally I'm glad that Horde members like him share some standard parts in this line. Most of the in the vintage Horde just didn't look like motu figures to me, with their weird limbs and parts.
Shadow Weaver: The figure is kind of bland and boring imo, although the character doesn't mean anything to me, so that doesn't help. It's not a bad figure, but I ended up selling her off. Maybe if I get interested in the Horde again someday I'll try and acquire one again.
Happily surprised at the high ranking of Dekker. Definitely underrated!

I still can't find any love for Dekker...dunno why, he just doesn't impress me much.....which is shocking cause he has that Samuel L. Jackson/Nick Fury meets MOTU vibe but yet, the design from the neck down is just.....boring. I would put Grizzlor and Shadow Weaver way above Dekker! That being said though, amazing pics as always and I'm happy to have been here from the beginning and will remain till the bittersweet end....

I too think Demo-Man is a rockin figure. Part of that for me is BECAUSE his paint aps are so bright. He looks otherworldly and he really pops. I love the details like the chipped, rusted sword. And of course the Alcala Skeletor head is icing on the cake. I don't care for the retconned bio though.

Dekker is another meh figure for me. He has a GI Joe vibe to him, and everyone knows the only interesting characters in GI JOE are the COBRAs.

Castle Grayskullman is very cool, for me the only interesting character from the 30th Anniversary set. Draego Man was cool and all, but he looks like he was designed for another line entirely. The others are pretty weak. CGM takes the spirit of the greatest playset ever and puts it in a character. Only thing I'd change is to make his paint a lighter green like the prototype MOTUC Castle. And loose the hair. The hair on mine was kind of green, which is a good color, but I don't think he needs hair.

The hair. The hair I don’t like. I understand that it’s supposed to re-create that 80’s vibe, and I suppose on that level it works. But I still don’t like it. I think the figure would have been perfect had it had some alternative design choice in that area. Otherwise, I love the idea of the character and find the figure to be excellent. The facial sculpt to mimic the castle is outstanding and so are the accessories. It also looks realllly cool inside or outside Castle Grayskull!

Fight for what's right, fight for your life!
I like him for what he is, I think it's stupid the torso is darker and not the same color as the rest of him, also, I could have cared less if they made the armor non removable and just sculpted the torso, but I still like him.

This figure was updated beautifully. I have always loved Buzz-Off and feel the added details, such as the tentacles below the wings, the detailing on the wings, and the much-improved removable mask (that actually fits over the face and stays on this time around!) make this figure near-perfect. The fact that Buzz-Off can actually hold his classic axe, and the new axe as well, is also a huge plus. The only aspect I would have potentially liked to have seen changed is the mouth sculpt – perhaps a little less smirk, though the Horsemen did tone it down some anyway. I love the figure.

So I got a little smirk. Let's just say I'm a little high on honey and leave it at that.
I had Buzz Off as a kid, I played with him a lot, but he wasn't a favorite, but now in Classics he does look much better, and I like him a bit more.

The only issue with the Griffin is that it’s probably a little on the small size, scale-wise. Otherwise, fantastic sculpt, with the face and beak being the highlight. I am also very happy Mattel listened to the customers and corrected the paint job to what it is now compared to what the prototype paint master. The Swiftwind wings also work well on the figure (and actually work better, as my three(!) Griffins’ wings stay in fine). Very pleasantly surprised with the Griffin(s), something I was NOT even initially wanting.

    I'm big in spirit.
Griffin is one of my top 20 favorite sculpts. Being a 200X character usually doesn't help anything, but even I can appreciate a great looking figure when I see it.

    Draego-Man

Draego-Man is a wonderful sculpt with outstanding weapons and looks cool as hell standing amongst the collection. I do believe it is more of a “deluxe” figure compared to the others considering the head and wings are so large AND it has a tail. In fact, it has so many “parts” that it’s almost difficult to pose in some ways; I find there aren’t that many ways to do so (the head on mine is also a little wobbly). This is probably, dare I say it, one of the most overrated figures for those reasons. That said, the figure does look like it belongs right alongside the Evil Warriors and can hang with the best of them.

Big things come in small packages.

MOTUC Most Wanted: Skeletor's Robot Knights, Two-Bad, Horde Troopers, Modulok, Sssqueeze, Tung Lashor, Stridor, Night Stalker, the Battle Ram, and a true, alternate head for Wun-Dar (since he's a "different" character)!

I'm with you on Dekker as very under rated. He's got some poseability issues due to that skirt, but the sculpt is fantastic and full of character.

That said, the figure does look like it belongs right alongside the Evil Warriors.

Big things come in small packages.
He's awesome. Mine had loose knees, ankles and the hips at the pelvis, making him a ***** to keep from doing the splits....I fixed that and he stands much better and upright now. Also, mine has the loose neck as well, I think it's a common thing, as I remember others reporting this as well.

Draego Man's head reminds me of some of the Filmation dragons, but other than that he's just too fancy and detailed and D&D-like to fit in with the MOTU universe, IMO. Maybe if his head was more human-shaped, with dragon features. That would help I think.

    Tri-Klops

Tri-Klops has one of the best face/head sculpts to date. The details on the armor, such as the daggers sculpted on and the holster for his sword, are very sweet. Having the Doomseeker is a nice addition as well. The eye turning feature works very well, with each eye being nicely updated and detailed. I can find no fault with Tri-Klops (other than those loose ankles which plagued the line early on).

    Great update.

Draego-Man is the best figure in the line. Bar none.
