    Snake Warriors

My ubiquitous hope is that one day Mattel will release the Snake Warriors in different colors. Red and purple would be my choice colors, too. And releasing them with different armor than what comes in this pack would be even better; it would make this pack even more valuable, providing more display options, and would be a much-needed boost to the ranks of the Snake Men, since there simply aren’t that many of them as it stands overall. As is, however, this is a fun pack. The main issue with the set, other than not having additional armor pieces, is that a couple of the heads are too similar to one another, when instead they should be more distinct. Nevertheless, the other reused parts work very well, and the sculpting on the armor and heads are great, with perhaps the highlight of the pack being the very cool, menacing weapons.

Orange and yellow, but what about red and green?!

Dangit Rockin, your photography is making me want to buy more figures I passed on! Those Snake Men shots are incredible. The three-quarter shot of them all looking at some distant threat, perhaps even King Grayskull himself across the great forest, hissing strategies to one another, steeling themselves for war. Dag, yo

I love me some Palace Guards too. I have two sets. Well, the dog ate one of them, so I have three guard figures. They're a great way to display alternate heads. Try an alternate Whiplash head and give him the weapons pak Clawful gear for a neat lizard dude.

Probably one of the funnest items in the whole line, it's a shame more army builders haven't been (and likely won't get) made.
I'd LOVE to have one or two female guards to round out the set.
    The last shot is great.
I wish they would release a few new Palace Guard heads, but I know that will never happen. And thanks!

I have Icarious, Bow, Dekker, and Whiplash's spare heads on Palace Guards. They look really good.

That last shot of Frosta is incredible as is the closeup shot of the four snakemen. Almost makes me question my decision of passing on them.....almost.

I agree with He-Dad, these pictures are amazing and should make anyone who skipped on a figure second-guess their decision!

Hmm, a year ago I would've been indifferent towards Frosta. I never grew up watching She-Ra and for the longest time, imagined that it was just a super-girly show. I was blown away by how much Filmation did with the series when I finally saw it and it made me a POP fan. In fact, She-Ra became the first MOTU cartoon series that I watched in its entirety before He-Man, 200X, or NA! Frosta stood out to me as an essential GR member thanks to the infamous "Sweet Bee's Home" episode where she was all over He-Man. I know she gets a lot of flak for being a flawed figure but I still like her. The reversed forearms aren't noticeable to me and I didn't even bother to do an arm swap. The translucent hair could've been a bit paler but it's fine too. Even her biggest flaw, the "Mattel White" color is still a cool grey that works for her. I like how the natural lighting in your pics lightens the colors up and makes her look just about right. Frosta is a beautiful figure and essential to the Great Rebellion...Or to chase after He-Man, heheh!

Snakes, why'd they have to be snakes?! Actually, the Snake Men set turned out to be more fun that I initially thought. They were low on my wants list but once again, the 4H did an amazing job on them and changed my opinion of them. Just like with the Palace Guards, I only have four of them but I'd get another four if they get made in variant colors. I also agree that some of the heads are kinda similar and you can be limited in the interchangeability if you want to remain color-coded but it's the weapons and armor where these baddies truly shine. They look vicious and I love those last pics of them standing as a group and looking like they're ready to give you a beat-down if He-Man's not around!

The figures are getting better and better, I look forward to seeing the next ones on your list!

I think the army builder guys are great, very well-done figures, especially the palace guards, who of course have the nostalgic Filmation factor. I don't have any of them, but if I had a large collection I'd definitely include them in it.

I passed on the Snake Men, only because of money at the time, now it's unlikely I will get them, because If they pop up on Matty, I won't be paying $54 for them....hell no. BBTS is still high on them as well.

But I'm just not sure anyway how much I want them, I mean the one is OK, looks decent, but the other with the Rattlor parts just looks stupid with a human chest, you have all those scales on the arms and legs, yet a smooth torso section.... Could have used Rattlor's chest and a new back piece.
Recent....Foe Men, Karatti & Spirit of Hordak
    Coming....
Wanted....Filmation Hordak & Clawful, Seahawk, Castaspella, Batros & Icer
    Considering....Mosquitor, Leech
    Needed....Dragstor, Mantenna,Two Bad & Attack Trak

    Megator

Perhaps even better sculpted and all-around detailed than Tytus, Megator looks awesome. Like with Tytus, I would have simply loved this “giant” figure as a kid (I didn’t even know Tytus and Megator existed until I became a member of He-Man.org as an adult and browsed the toy archives!). One of the best “new” choices in design on Megator is the full loincloth piece instead of that near-string bikini version that the vintage figure sported, which was a curious choice, to say the least. This new loincloth gives MUCH less cause for unintentional giggles. However, what separates Megator from Tytus is that the quality control is improved; the joints are tighter, the loincloth is softer--which allows better hip and leg movement--and the head is much more articulated, even removable. In addition, Megator comes with a MUCH cooler weapon accessory, as well as a “zombie” alternative head. Alas, as with Tytus, the lack of articulation (ball-jointed shoulders and ankle articulation) truly limits the scope of awesomeness this figure could possess.

    Ho, ho, ho?

I rank him above Tytus as well, b/c of the weapon and extra head. They are equal in being pieces of junk though. The leg snapped right off my Tytus when I tried to move it, and the peg-hole in Megator's head collapsed the first time I switched heads.
The zombie head is the one I've been displaying most of the time, I find it a bit cooler than the regular head.
But, I still dig the look of both of them, despite their terrible flaws. Bring on the ABC giants!

    Snout Spout

A figure that is often maligned is Snout Spout. To be truthful, anyone who sees this figure for the first time is likely to chuckle: it’s an elephant head on an orange, human body. It’s a pretty silly design, though, for reasons unknown to me, Mr. Spout has always been one of my favorite figures/characters. I really can’t explain why, either. What I can rationalize is that this Classics version is definitely an upgrade to the vintage version, upping the detail quite a bit. The most obvious (hopefully!) instance of this is to the robotic elephant head itself. There is a quite a bit more robotic, intricate details to be found, though my favorite update is almost completely ridding the figure of the “sad” vintage eyes. I’m sure some fans would have preferred those, but any extra “serious” factor to a figure that comes off as utterly ridiculous as this is a good thing. There have been plenty of complaints about the “bendy” nose having poor quality or breaking/wrinkling, yet I have to state that my figure does not suffer from any issues and is flawless. Perhaps I’m one of the lucky ones. Regardless, Snout Spout was updated quite nicely and I’m very happy to have this updated vintage version (not the 200x staction) in my collection.

Whew. I still haven't warmed up to this Snout Spout. His staction was my all time favorite 200x update just about, so this one fell mightily short. Very nice pictures as always though. You've rated him higher than I would have, which is a kindness "Sad" Spouty would have smiled about!

Snout Spout!!!! He's in my top 10 personally. He was one of my favorites as a kid as well. Out of the heroic warriors, I probably played with him the second most (behind Thunderpunch He-Man). He was a fireman, which gave him huge props to me as a child, AND he shot water. I could aim him pretty accurately, much to the chagrin of my little sister. She still hates him to this day, lol. My son now has vintage hose nose and plays with him almost as much as I did as a child. Anyway, my classics Snout Spout is still flawless as well....even after taking a tumble through the christmas tree this year.....and I love him.

As I mentioned earlier, I have no space for the giants but man, those pics make me want to get a Megator! Should I someday have the space and extra money I may turn to the completist dark side yet. I'll have to dedicate a shelf to you for all the characters you swayed me on through your photos....lol.

    Evil-Lyn

The figure is almost exactly what I expected it to be: the Teela buck with a new head and weapons. That’s pretty much it. It almost feels that Screech was included to make up for the figure only being comprised of a new head and weapons, too. Regardless, this is THE essential Evil-Lyn for me, the vintage figure. The face is updated quite nicely and so are the weapons. And although the head is a bit limited in movement, and overall the figure just lacks in the "wow" category, I’m nevertheless quite happy to have the figure, and the collection would never be complete without it.

Wow, that's a low ranking for Evil-Lyn. I would rank her near the top of all figures, even higher than Teela due to her better quality.
I never planned to own Snout Spout, but I ended up digging the figure quite a bit. Mine doesn't have any issues, but I barely posed the trunk, and when the issues came to light I stopped doing it altogether.

Me neither. IMO, the Snout Spout staction head destroys the vintage one. I wish that Mattel hadn't imposed their stupid, stupid 200X head rule.

I never posed the trunk either. I'm definitely not doing it now.

As for Evil-Lyn, some of us were sick of the Teela buck back in 2010, since the Goddess had come out right after Teela.

I'd put Clawful way ahead of snout spout, but that might just be because I loved Clawful so much as a kid. The later characters in MOTU never grabbed me much.

That's a good point about the Teela buck, and adds to the fact why the figure is ranked on the low side.

About a 200x Snout Spout head, even if the figure had received a 200x head, the figure would still be on a vintage body, so I don't see the point, just like there was no point to the 200x Whiplash head on the vintage body. At least, that's the way I see it.

I agree. The Whiplash head was worthless.....looks wrong on the vintage body and went in the Despondos spare parts bag and will be there for eternity. I personally hate the 200x head. Snout Spout is supposed to be kinda goofy. That's the charm of the character.

Yellow Evil-lyn bugged me as a kid. She wasn't yellow in the cartoon. As I came in to collecting these late, I chose to go with BG Evil-Lyn as my definitive version and I'm happy with her. I may have to get yellow Lyn though and paint her green as a non-exploding Goddess and for Screech.

Don't forget, yellow and blue make green!

About a 200x Snout Spout head, even if the figure had received a 200x head, the figure would still be on a vintage body, so I don't see the point, just like there was no point to the 200x Whiplash head on the vintage body. At least, that's the way I see it.
A 200X head doesn't always need a 200X body. 200X heads worked out for Moss Man and Stinkor, despite vintage bodies. Some fans like the more serious heads of 200X. They could deal with the bodies and reused parts.

May be I hate it because I didn't have it as a child, so there is no emotional attachment.

I was reading all the opinions about 200X head and I think a "classisied" 200X head would be awesome. The Snout Spout staction body is not so different than the classics one as they share a lot of common features. The problem about whiplash is that the 200X version is a completelly different character so the second head is useless.
