All of your pirctures are definitely quite lovely.

Are you including 30th anniversary characters in this list? Just curious (as I woul;d have expected a few of them to show up by now ).

I like Wun-Dar but I can definitely see the logic in placing him so low on your list because of being a repaint.

Hurricane Hordak is perhaps the most disappointing figure in this entire line to me. I was so excited for him, as I never had the original, but when they made the switch to the vac metal armor I really was disappointed. Vac metal just looks so cheap most of the time, and of course once I got Hordak in hand I realized that this vac metal was the cheapest I'd ever encountered. To twist the proverbial knife even more, Mattel put it on a flexible piece of plastic. Changing the "wheel" on Hordak's back into some kind of cool back armor or spikes would have been an awesome opportunity to update the figure. Instead, we get a non functioning wheel with flaking paint. My Hordak now stands on a shelf, untouched, for the fear that he will continue to shed an ever growing pile of gold that Scrooge McDuck will want to come swim in.

There are only three figures I bought multiples of: Count Marzo (for a custom), Vykron (to display the trio) and Captain Glenn. Marlena's an important character and her figure is ok, but Captain Glenn, IMO, was one of the best figures the year she was released. I love the retro spacegirl look about her.

Thanks for the positive comments! Yes, 30th are included. Stay tuned!

Also, I understand your concerns about the vac metal, but I have to say, and maybe it's just my figure, but the vac metal has stayed perfectly in place. Then again, I don't move it, either.

I brought two Trap Jaws to make one into Kronis.

You've got to understand by now.

The whole point of asking for a 200X Evil-Lyn is because she has her OWN costume, not a repaint of Teela's. It's like asking for Snake Armor He-Man and getting a normal He-Man repaint with green boots, harness, loincloth and weapons. To some fans, that was Mattel wasting a precious slot instead of nailing it the first time. Evil-Lyn might be a major character, but fans are growing more and more impatient with Toyguru, Mattel and Digital River, making subscriptions suffer. Unless things markedly improve, we might never see Cloak and Dagger Evil-Lyn now.

Oh, trust me, been around that bend, my dear - I know. But to say such a gorgeous figure is the worst in the line - I just cannot imagine.

Great pictures, and fun to discuss at any case.

This is a fantastic thread and I really look forward to future updates. Don't let others tell you how to order your list, give it to us straight!

If I chose to display Kronis, I'd take the black chest piece off to differentiate him further. Plus it just looks like a support mechanism for the robot arm.

Imagine if Mattel had released the Sorceress as simply a new head and a cape over Teela's body repainted. Wouldn't you consider that to be pretty disappointing? That's how many fans of Evil Lyn's brilliant 200x look felt.

I would, I'm actually a little disappointed that the Sorceress we got didn't look like the 4H prototype, wing drums aside, the thighs and crotch piece were all wrong. And the fact that with the correctly articulated thighs and taller boots TOD Sorceress actually looks better. I would have liked to see the originals new boots be as tall as the Teela boots are. I have no specific wants for 200X versions, or characters, but even I can see why BGEL was a let down to most 200X fans. I like her myself, but she's also not in the top 20 of the 52 figures I own.

    The Goddess

What I love about the Goddess is the fact that even though it’s a repaint and reuses the Teela body, it actually looks like an all-new character, which is what the character is in MOTUC. The transparent green visual is outstanding. Even the figure’s face, which is the same as Teela’s, simply looks different due to the transparency/paint used. The newly tooled staff included is also a nice, welcome addition. But, as most everyone knows, the problem with The Goddess is that the hips/legs will break if we even-so-much as look at them the wrong way. The construction of this figure is really unfortunate. I am on my second Goddess figure due to this ongoing issue. I also wish they could have removed the “leaves” from the tunic to be more accurate to the mini-comic on which the figure is based.

I like that last pic. She looks good with the light shining through her. I still don't own any from the countdown yet, so I can't really give any input in that department, but several you've mentioned are at the bottom of my priority list. HH, SMAA, BGEL, TODS & heck Kronis & Glenn too because I want to catch up on unique characters first.

The Goddess is one of my favorite figures that I never expected to get made. It's a shame that she has exploding hips, though. I don't pose her lower half for fear of breaking her and so far, she's holding together nicely. If she falls apart on me, I'll just try to repair her somehow so that she can do some cool battle poses like she's supposed to.

I agree that the translucent green plastic gives her a neat, unique look and your pics really show off how beautiful she is. I prefer this Goddess over the regular Teela-with-Snake-Armor version!

I completely understand those arguments, as MGM pointed out I've participated in extensive discussions on her before.

I think the thing for me is that I didn't come at her with preconceived notions - and I feel that standing back and looking at the figure itself (not what it could have been, but what it is) she is one gorgeous figure.

She is assuredly "my" EL - since childhood I have wanted more than anything to have an EL that wasn't jaundiced. I still remember going to a far away toy store just to find her and telling my mom that something wasn't right - it said Evil-Lyn, but EL wasn't fluorescent yellow to me. And as someone that generally just wants the character to be recognizable (I don't usually care if x-figure has x-feature, as long as it looks like the character I remember/love) she looks amazing to me. And truth be told, a lot of people at the time said the same thing - but 200x fans were so upset that she was not what they expected a lot of that got drowned out.

Again, enjoying the thread and the amazing pictures - but like any opinion ranking, taking that part with a grain of salt - cause like I said, three of what I think are the best figs are already ranked at the bottom, so I'm pretty sure we have divergent tastes.

I myself have only seen two of my top 20 figures / characters so far in your bottom picks Rockin', Wun-Dar and TOD Sorceress are among those.
But no one said anyone has to have the same opinions in a personal ranking thread....it's your thread, run with it. And the pics are good pics....

I myself rank H Hordak at the lower end of my collection. Goddess I do not own, but if I did, she'd be lower too. SMAA would be higher on my list,
but since he didn't come with the parts I think that make the figure better (Mustached Duncan head, & WP#3 canon) I have to rank him lower.

    Tank Warrior Vykron

Tank Warrior (aka “Tank Top”) is a fun variant with a great head sculpt. It truly grew on me over time. However, that doesn’t go without saying that it is a comical (if not out-of-place) variant with the United States military stars boldly embroidered on the boot guards. Nevertheless, all the attachments, which are pretty well-detailed, snap on well for Tank Warrior, even if it does isolate articulation, particularly the lower legs.

Ugh. Vykron. He had to be the first SDCC item I really wasn't feeling (even Orko had a Prince Adam figure, even if it was Vintage Adam).

Although I love barbarians, he's kinda lackluster. My friends and I joke about the goblet--er, helmet of his. He does have a good facial sculpt though.

I don't have a Vykron, but I will probably never display Tank or Space. I just hate snap on type armor. There was potential, but they missed it IMO. The guns are very blah too.

Finally, one I can whole-heartedly can agree with being on the bottom! Though I honestly think this is the worst SKU of the line - mostly because as you pointed out with the "Snap on" issues, I have a hard time even seeing it as part of the actual MOTUC line proper. By design it seems anti-MOTUC to me - more of a one-off than an actual part of the MOTUC "family".
