I'm not going to list the issues with the line. We know what they are. I can't imagine how many people have been put off of this line, dismissed the sub, or are barely hanging on after all the misinformation we have been fed. So far Toyguru has sent out apology gifts for defective figures.

What about an apology, or a thank you gift for everyone that stuck it out.
It could be offered to every registered board member. Since some members may have never purchased product, it could be by submission of receipt for anyone that purchased product during 2011 and 2012.

Nothing says thank you for years of support in a self advertising line like a free figure. I'm sure the international fans who really take a hit to enjoy these items would appreciate it

I still have Teela's a graded Shadow Weaver, Fisto, The Sorceress, a free Buzz-Off for a defect that doesn't apply to me and I'm a MOC collector, so defects never hurt me. I pretty much am good. So as long as the line doesn't die, that's appreciation enough for me.

Other than that, maybe add the perk of $25 figures for Early Access, even if it's only for the first hour or two, then full price after.

Kidding. I wouldn't go so far as a gift, but I would love some geeky stuff for sub holders and I wouldn't mind paying a little bit for them. Like cardboard display dioramas of the Fright Zone, Whispering Woods, the Palace, etc. Stupid stuff like that goes a long way and it's easy to make.

Despite a few potholes here and there, we have a really cool He-man line. I'm pretty happy with it, I think some people expect a lot more from this line, and that's there prerogative, they want something more from it than I do. I really don't think we need more gifts though. The one for the problems with Frosta or whatever was REALLY excessive in my opinion. The fact that they will take a chance every once and awhile and do things like Castle Greyskull & Granamyr is good enough for me.

On top of that isn't the sub exclusive 'FREE' for subscribing every year? Do they charge us when we sign up or is it just a card check to see if funds are in it? I can't remember.

We do get charged for the sub figure so it's not free. But we did just get a free figure! To be honest... I'd rather they make up for past mistakes by not making them again! That'd make me happy.

Also as others have pointed out, we do get free posters with the sub. We'll be getting one with the castle as well. We also got an apology figure over what happened with Frosta. The figures are over all, fantastic. Bring on the rest of the year!

We're not owed anything by Mattel. In fact, I was very surprised by the first gift offering. Sure they have had more than their fair share of problems with this line, and lord knows I'm guilty of the occasional derogatory coment, but I'm not expecting any more free handouts. As far as I'm concerned, the company has already done right by me.

This is gonna sound cheesy but my gift is the fact that these figures are even being made. I never thought I'd ever own a Shadow Weaver. Okay, so I had to pay for it and subscribe to a year's worth of product, but I'm just happy we're even getting these things made! If they keep 'peppering' in accessories with the figures like the Fangman sword, then that'll keep me happy! And, sure, the line is not without its issues but when I look at some of the stuff we've got, I'm pretty happy to be collecting, and I don't need someone to offer me free gifts to carry on. If people start voting with their wallets then that's fine, up to them, and if I was ****** with the line I'd make a stand presumably and stop collecting, but we're not there yet and I'm happy to get whatever I can afford!

I thought this thread would be overwhelmed with disagreement, and no doubt its from the orgers who have the best pricing, lowest shipping rates, and easiest access to purchasing and trading. They often forget that the rest of us really have to shell out money to collect this line. The whole 'if you don't like it, don't buy it' argument is nothing more than snappy retort from people who just care to have for themselves.

Companies give freebies away all the time. Asking for a freebie is neither wrong, or in poor taste. We are talking toys here, not lifetime subscriptions or gold bars. We have seen the vast surplus of figures that get moved around for various reasons. There is no harm in asking for a little something, better sales and more opportunities to have the products we try to buy, given what some of us have to endure to collect this line.

You're seriously misinformed, or rather I feel, just making up base assertions that you can't back up. Where, per chance, have you gotten even a bit of backing for your statements on which orgers are the ones disagreeing? I guarantee you I do not get the lowest shipping rates, best pricing (whatever that means) and easiest access to purchasing (you mean a computer and the ability to type in URLs?).

Is asking for a freebie wrong or in poor taste? No. What it is, though, is horribly and selfishly misguided.

And yes, saying its a bad idea does serve to help because it helps, in theory, over-entitled people get a better grip on common sense.
