    Star Wars Black Series

New six inch Star Wars figures coming in 2013!

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/m...-toys/1872035/

This sounds awesome to me. I haven't collected anything Star Wars related since 2005 but I'm going to have to seriously watch these. What do you all think?

Oh wow...it's official, eh? Saw the rumors yesterday.

I'm honestly very excited about this! I stopped collecting the 3.75" line, and only started buying a few figures here and there. I always said that a 6" line would be the thing to draw me back in to really collecting Star Wars again. Bye-bye money...

    That Luke looks REALLY great!

Yeah, these have been rumored forever! You know, I might actually give these a go. At least some of them. I'm a TINY bit uninspired by the character selection for the first four releases. But I'll still pick some up for sure.

Yea the lineup is a bit weird. Why not so a more standard Luke, Vader, R2 and Stormtrooper? I'm sure they will come if the line continues...but still, you would think they would launch with their A-game.
It is spelled "Crita", not "Critta". Misspell her name and Crita will knock the "T" out of you!

    Also...get her into the line!

I'm anxious to see a ROTJ Luke with cloak and such. I sort of wish that was their first release. But I do think this X-Wing Luke looks pretty great!

I'm already foaming at the mouth thinking about a 6" Boba Fett and Aayla Secura!

I'm eager to see how Vader, Han Solo & Qui Gonn among others may look like; Hasbro may have to create a different single mold pretty much for each figure I'd like to get those initial 4, except for Luke maybe, its head sculpt made him look quite depressed or full of apathy.

I do really hope line is a success and Hasbro then launches G.I.Joe Classics Black series also; it would be a awesome if design style and scale are similar between those 2 lines and you can mix them, just picture Cobra B.A.T's next to Stormtroopers.

So, is this line going to be an online exclusive like Motuc--or in regular brick stores?

I agree, if Motuc does fizzle out in a few years (hopefully not!) this may be my new favorite line

I REALLY want this too. I liked Gi Joe Sigma 6 ok, but they were just TOO big. 6" would be perfect to fit with everything else.

This could be a really great line, but it must include Princess Leia. I'd also like to see Padme/Queen Amidala and some of the female Jedi.

Well, considering how much I collect, I won't be able to jump into this whole-hog, but I'll certainly be picking a few faves. Kinda sucks that it seems like they're really trying to get the 6 inch scale back into stores again. I'm tryin' to cut that scale out since they started Marvel Universe, and now they keep making more things that makes me want to keep the other old 6 inchers around.

i'm in the same boat. i like how x-wing luke looks, aside from his head. i can't tell if it's his face sculpt or just the glum expression he has. i'm looking forward to a darth vader, a chewbacca, and, most of all, a snowtrooper.

I haven't collected Star Wars in years, but if these are too awesome I won't be able to resist.

These look great! Its about time SW is being brought in this scale. I'm definitely going to be picking some of these up! The Sand Trooper looks amazing and I'd like to see more pics of Darth Maul. Making Boba Fett the sdcc exclusive!? I'm gonna have to tap into some connections to secure one, but I'm sure a regular version will be released later on just in case. Bring on Vader, Han, Mara Jade and Chewie!

While this new series is looking good, I'm afraid it comes a few years too late for me. I collected POTF2 figures for a long time and eventually got burned out on all the constant releases of major character with minor scene-specific changes. I already had reservations about starting with a comprehensive line like MOTUC but I can't do it again with such a huge line like Star Wars. I tend to be a completist with my collections so it just makes it too much of a financial burden to even start. Add in that it looks like Boba Fett with Carbonite Han is already going to be a SDCC exclusive that's going to be difficult, and expensive, to get from the start and I'm out. Finally, one of the big perks of the smaller figures were the vehicles and playsets that are just as iconic as the characters. I just don't see Hasbro making any more than a couple of ships like the X-Wing or TIE Fighter at best. I'm pretty sure a Black Series-scale Millennium Falcon, a must-have vehicle IMO, won't ever be made due to the sheer size and costs of it. Forget the Slave-1, AT-AT, Y-Wing, Vader's TIE, Jedi Starfighters, Republic Gunship, AT-ST, or Tatooine Skiffs. Even if they do get made, you'd need a new house to display them, heheh!

Maybe I'll pick up a Bespin Luke and Vader if I see them in stores. Otherwise, I'm going to steer clear of this line...But I am happy for the next generation of collectors that's going to enjoy these. I look forward to seeing cool display pics, at least!

Pixel Dan, I just saw your walkthrough video on your site. The figures look great, really excited about these. I couldn't get any audio on the vid though, anyone else having that problem?

    Nerdgasmed. Hard.

Shame about Vader's cloak - would look better as plastic and not like someone cut a square out of a pair of tights.

Is the video in Mono, maybe? I've had a few people on YouTube tell me that video is in Mono for some reason. It sounded fine in my headphones while I was editing, so I don't know if it's a YouTube problem or something with the actual video. I'll have to look into it.

You mean Maul, right? No Vader for the 6" series yet.

I just pre-ordered the Star Wars 6" Black Series Wave 2 . Looks like it will be coming in November, so a perfect Christmas gift .

I too just pre-ordered Greedo and Boba Fett (in case I can't get a hold of the SDCC version at a semi-reasonable price)...

I did see it. And that is what helped me jump on the pre-order as soon as it was available. Thanks P-Danny
