Green repaint of the He-Man body like the Classic figure
A new sculpted "Body Suit" body, painted green
Other, explain in post
There's been some discussion about whether or not fans would prefer the "painted skin" look on some of the Classic figures (which was done as a cost-saving measure) on characters who were clearly supposed to be wearing clothing, or having a new sculpted "Body Suit" basic body that could repainted to be several different characters, from Man-At-Arms to Snout Spout.
So, would you prefer green "skin" on Man-At-Arms?
Or a green "body suit" on Man-At-Arms?
(MAA is the example here, but in general, what would you prefer?)
A new sculpted "Body Suit" body, painted green indeed.![]()
I opted for the body-suit idea. I understand the nostalgia factor of making it exactly like the original MAA, but really, the man wasn't truly meant to be wearing a unitard, was he? He's an armor-wearing SOB! Then, as stated in the thread, we can use it for other characters as well.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti
Jungle Attack He-Man in Classics!
Ah, frag. I didn't read properly before I voted.![]()
I would prefer a body-suit sculpt. But one that looks like their in a leather-like or fabric-suit, not armour.
Can I change my vote from repainted He-man to sculpted suit?
I think Classic should keep the painted He-Man body and 200X should keep the armored body idea. The idea is to bring back the old designs. Improving on the old designs is 200X waters.
Now it's a great idea for 200X versions of MOTUC Man-At-Arms and Meckaneck. But right now, they are supposed to be the vintage versions of Man-At-Arms and Meckaneck.
I'm assuming that it's going to be the HE-MAN body simply painted green, which doesn't really bother me. Skin tight, stitched leather with a few wrinkles here and there would look pretty darned cool, though.
I would really prefer it not to look like armor though. Not the green parts, anyway.
Prefers ZODAC with human feet!
I prefer a painted skin.
But of course I'm waiting a cool orange armor on his body just like the old figure.
I think I'd prefer a green "body suit" sculpted with minimal detail. The existing strong man sculpt could be modified easily, and the sculpt could be used for other figures like Mek-A-Neck and I'm sure a few in the NA line of figures. It's not like money would be lost creating a second sculpt for these other figures, which could explain why MAA hasn't come out yet. The 4H and Mattel just might have something planned like this!
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!
My list from the other thread:
• Man-At-Arms
• Mekaneck
• Trap-Jaw
• Man-E-Faces
• Sy-Klone
• Snout Spout
• Blast Attak
• Dragstor
• Rio Blast
And yeah, a bunch of NA characters too.
I forgot to add Randor and Prince Adam to that list, too.
There are some instances where I don't mind recycling parts, but this isn't it. New sculpted body, please.
Wabawalawoo!!!
I voted for the green repaint just because that's how the classic figure was.
I will welcome a body suit version if Mattel gets to making them in a 2002 style.
I'm really not a fan of the reuse of parts and this is a great example of adding variety to the line in a way where the reuse of this new body type would be acceptable. I'm all for the characters in LM's list to be using a body-suit sculpt. Here's hoping.
…I love Classics…
…but 200X is my Masters of the Universe...

I think the crux of it is that people who like the Classic reuse wouldn't necessarily be UPSET if MAA had a slightly sculpted body suit, so why not make everyone happy?![]()
Huh?
A mere 58 votes, and it's split 30 to 28.
How is that not neck and neck?![]()
Yeah it seems fairly close to me, which is why I truly believe that if there were SOME added detail to MAA's body suit it would please classic and 200X fans alike. For me, I'll like whatever they do, I'm a MotU fan not a selective era fan.

painted skin with clip on armor like the original.
I voted a new sculpted body suit. As if Mattel did this it would pave the way for soo many other characters. Snout Spout, Mek-E-Nek, Man-E-Faces...so many to choose from. Then all that will need to change will be paint apps.

The first Man-at-Arms should be like the original version that we saw on the original box art.
A Man-at-Arms with the new sculpted body suit would make a great variant figure down the road. In fact, they could call him Battle Armor Man-at-Arms.
