The Dirt Cheap Way to Create A Large Grayskull Display!

This is more of a helpful solution to those who can't afford a $300 castle.

I know many folks on these boards are underwhelmed by MOTUC Grayskull's size. If all you are going to do is use Grayskull as a display for your figures, here is a picture of what I have done:

    Shelves: Total cost $25

    Paint: Total cost $5

    Time: about 4 -6 hours

    Procedure:
    1. I drew a picture of CG

    2. Copied onto clear plastic overhead projector film

    3. Projected image onto wall using a projector (many schools are getting rid of these so u may b able to find one for free)

    4. Traced with a paint marker

    5. Painted it all in

    6. Painted shelves and attached them

I also did a Snake mountain following the same procedure... if you have the wall space, it's pretty easy to do, and I AM NOT a painter!

That, sir, is clever. Nicely done!

Nice idea. Definitely makes for an interesting display.

I have been toying with the idea of painting a back drop to my MOTUC shelving in my games room for some time.

Thanks, I'd love to do a Fright Zone, but alas... no more wall space!!!

It's funny you mention that. I was thinking about taking everything out of my upstairs office and having a wall for each of the four main factions. I'm not sure I want to sacrifice that much wall space, but I know I would love that room if it came together.

I figured this was more interesting than just simple shelves... and we will never get a 5ft castle from Mattel!

If you had the wall space, would you do the Fright Zone, & Crystal Palace, & Eternos Palace? Maybe Whispering Woods?

I would love to do a vintage playset fright zone... that would be fun to try to create some 3D effects with the shelving. I would love to do a 3 headed Serpos Mountain as well... AND a Silver King Grayskull castle... man, if I only had the room!

yea.. exactly. And feel free to "take" the idea everyone, as I wouldn't consider it stealing at all. It looks so much better in person, as the colors are much bolder, and the size is pretty impressive. As someone mentioned, a Cat's Lair would be awesome. I wanted to paint a city scape in my kid's playroom for all their DC superheroes... my wife had to step in and take my brushes...

Really great idea, RYDELL! Kudos to you!

I've been toying with the idea of making a 'front' out of that plastic/cardboard type stuff that the HORSEMEN used to make the GRAYSKULL mock up.

Dude, that's what's up. Great job.
Ask not for whom MOTUC is made, it's made for thee.

If you have to disclaimer your like, then you don't really like it.
