Ashley Wood to make 1/6 Marvel figures.

ThreeA is proud to announce it’s collaboration with Marvel Comics. That’s right! The house of ideas that is Marvel Comics and ThreeA, are putting their combined talents together to bring you one epic line of 1/6 figures.

The line will consist of classic Marvel characters re-imagined by artist Ashley Wood in the ThreeA style. All the Marvel goodness that you already know and love, with an extra added twist. Releases will start in 2013.

“To get the chance to play with Marvel Comics awesome characters is kinda mind blowing” – Ashley Wood
This might be the coolest toy news ever. ThreeA is the only toyline I collect - and I can't wait to see what Ash is going to do to Marvel.

    More from Ash:

we want to do the spectrum from wolverine to Modok, that gives you an idea of the range. I feel very lucky to have this chance to play with Marvel stuff, pretty cool they are behind it too ! I have spoken to DC in the past but the seemed no that into it, not like Marvel!

well Ill say this, My Doc Doom is looking cool. shouldnt be saying anything, but this is the place right !

im a comic marvel guy, i dont care for movie version or naming systems !

I would love to make 25" galactus

Iron Man goes up for preorder next month. Looks amazing!

There are four variants, Classic, Silver Centurian, Stark Industries Prototype and the Stealth! Prototype is 3AA only as a single, or available in the mega 4 pack display box edition.

    How excited are you?!
    He is coooool!
    BUT
What's up with the articulation!? Is it a skin overlay? I'm not the biggest fan of those... they tear sometimes.
I'm surprised cause I don't see elbow or knee articulation...

He weeps, for he has but one small tongue, with which to taste an entire world!

I'm just not that excited about these? This Iron Man almost looks like he has a female build?

As much as love the superheroes, these are definitely not my kind of thing. I can understand the attraction though, the rustic, "independent" look. Toys for people who are ashamed that they collect toys. They can say "But this isn't a toy, this was designed by so and so". Good for them. My toys weren't designed by anyone in particular, they just materialized out of no where.

Sorry for the rant, I'm home form work with a nasty cold, and in a general bad mood today.

And ordered! I went Classic Red and Gold. I like all 4 colorways, but when I display all his Marvel characters together I want each one in their most well-known color schemes.

    Also, early prototype for DOOM!

    UPDATE:

Q: For your collaboration with Marvel you revealed few iconic characters, like Spiderman, Captain America, Doom and Ultron, but all of them is male, if you want and can make female character, who's the first on your mind? Storm, Psylocke, BW, or who?
A: We are making Black Widow and Ms Marvel. We are developing a new female body for these and upcoming female characters.

These figs would be fine if it wasn't for one major and glaring issue...the feet. Donald Duck would like his mouth back
