Going to New York. Any advice or suggestions?

I'm heading over to New York this Easter with a friend. We're used to travelling, and have already planned for a lot. But with any big cities, there's always those cool places you miss out on, so I like to ask any locals (or people who are familiar in NY): Is there anything cool I should know of? Any hidden gems. Any good toy stores? Concert venues, bars, etc? Other suggestions?

We're very excited, and I hope for a memorable trip.

As for toy stores, BCRDuke told me about Toy Tokyo on the lower East side. There's also a cool comic book shop around the corner from it. I don't recall the exact address off the top of head. I went to Toy Tokyo and it was awesome! I found some great loose vintage MOTU and TMNT figures.

St marks comics around the corner from toy Tokyo.

Get the village voice on any corner for free to see what bands are in the area when you come. You never know whis in town here.

Then if your into partying and drinking and doing illegal activities there's the best clubs here in the city.
