Got my kit in the mail today as well. Looks great, though the helmet seems a bit big for the head. Perhaps this is because of the material it's made out of and having a tight fit could break it? The helmet can definitely be adjusted to have correct placement, however.
If I remember correctly, the Fisto sword project was Joe's first big custom project. Before that he was mainly just doing custom figures for himself and Wizard/Toyfare.
My sets haven't arrived yet but I did get a shipping notice!! Oh boy!
Got mine today! Very Happy!

I got my set yesterday,... LOVE IT!!! IM PUMPED
Cinco Banking System: Great. I've made the change. Your wife's new legal name is: TAARGÜS TAARGÜS. Is this okay?
I just opened my set of three... and two of the walls are broken at the base
Seeing as how they just seemed to be glued together in the first place, I contacted him about what might be best to use to glue them back together, as I don't want to try five different adhesives and make a mess.
Part of me is psyched to finally get these, the other part is "Seriously?!" when I saw that two of them broke during shipping after the long wait.
Update! Joe responded to my email with the following info:
Yes, I used Super Glue. I also used a product called ZipKicker because supposedly it makes Super Glue set faster and harder.
So for anyone else who has this problem, give that a shot! I'm superglueing mine in a bit and seeing how that holds together
I can't believe how well he was able to match the paints of Castle Grayskullman on these stands/heads... if only Mattel could put this stuff out themselves and get it right!

Yeah, one of my two was also broken at the base. The other one is only half connected and is glued at an angle less than 90 degrees so a figure cannot stand on it. I will try gluing the broken one, and if that goes well I will break the other one apart and glue it at a right angle. There are some little guide pegs that broke, but they do not seem structurally significant. Not pleased, but not looking to deal with the headache of a return, either. I mostly wanted the heads anyway, which are great. I am not really a fan of the CGM concept but this new head makes it more interesting.
The head and helmet sculpts are fantastic!! I'd love to get the head painted in Skeletor colors for an un-hooded Skeletor head.
if anyone has a spare set or dosnt want there's pm me because im looking for a kit
ANY IDEA what color formulation Joe used for the helmet's? I scratched the hell out of one of the helmets and heads trying toget the helmet the "shrink" properly? For whatever reason, I don't think Joe gets my e-mails...can someone please find out that grey he used? (I am not as concerned with the green, as once the helmet is on you won't see the head scratches.)
Rambo was a documentary filmed in real time.
