The Female Faces Close-Up Thread [latest update: Marlena]

    Hi guys,

because I admire woman and their beauty in general, I always felt the need for close-up pictures of the female MOTUC protagonists faces. Tonight I finally took the time and got started. What do you guys think about that idea?

    Greetz,
    belmont

    Let's start with Adora

Great idea for a thread! I've never seen Adora so close up, but I have to say I've always loved her face and how the makeup is so true to Filmation.

I'm hoping Frosta was a little glitch because Castaspella, Octavia and Netossa have great faces. In terms of Filmation-inspired faces, I can't wait for them to get to Flutterina and her way-crazy curly eyelashes!
Most-wanted MOTUC: Granita - Hunga the Harpy - Spinnerella - Melaktha - Vultak - Dylamug - Crita - Mermista Sprag, Sprocker and Spritina

    Let's hear it for everybody's favorite yellow-skin Evil-Lyn

Here's one of my most beloved MOTU sculpts [the helmet version]: Battleground Evil-Lyn ...

Speaking of Netossa, I really like her. Though my figure has probably the most sloppy female MOTUC paint-job so far, especially on her face

Very cool thread! I love these detail close-up shots, the female figures in this line are very beautiful indeed. I also think Adora has one of the prettiest faces in the collection but Teela and Netossa are gorgeous too. I look forward to seeing Shokoti and Castaspella later on, they look great!

Excellent, excellent thread! I love it!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Yeah. Excellent thread. Great idea! I like yellow Evil-Lyn bunches. Oh, and Marlena. Can't beat the eyeshadow on Adora though!

Great Thread! Love Adora and Netossa. Teela...I think is kind of ugly actually. Not the sculp, but the paint job. The eyes are dull and lifeless IMO. The face looks like she is bored or something. She needs more lively eyes and expression.

    Great pictures!
I think Adora's face is the best!
Here is an idea, you could choose some villain faces and we can vote which is the most scariest! Mantenna will win for sure!

Adora is the best, IMO. Seeing her in MOTUC and how greatly sculpted she was made me start collecting this line. I can't wait for Casta and Shokoti!!

I really prefer the painted skin tone like Adora, Tallstar and Teela have. The none painted skin tone for Frosta, Starla and escspecially Battleground Teela are not good as the others I think.
I hope Castaspella will get the better, painted skin tone!!

And yes! Adora ist also my favorite

So someone in China paints each of the these faces by hand with a tiny paintbrush? One at a time? Does anyone know?

Somehow the deco on TOD Sorceress makes her sculpt even more appealing. I hope you post so we can compare.

Yes they are done by hand but the factory workers use tools called "paint masks." Here's an example of one.

Fan-freakin-tastic sculpt and also one of my faves in the line. Some of these would make sweet wallpapers. Just sayin...

    Great thread, btw

Wow, that was really cool to see. I would love to see a "Making of" video for a MOTU figure at the factory, but these companies are so paranoid they dont ever let stuff like that out.

Man, oh man, do I love that NETOSSA face sculpt!!!

But they all look really great. Loads of work and planning are put into these things. Many times, I've wished that non-collectors could see that these are more than just silly, generic, chunks of plastic made for 10 year olds.
