how much will cost right now to get a complete MOTU Collection?

I have started off my collection for MOTU this past week and below is my list so far:

    Loose:

    1) He Man (Mattel India)
    2) Battle Cat (Mattel India)
    3) Attak Track (Mattel India)
    4) Road Ripper (Mattel India)
    5) Tri-Klops (Mattel India)
    6) Man at Arms (might be getting soon Mattel India)

    Are these any rare?

    MOC:

    Evil Lyn (Vintage and Comm)
    Trap Jaw (Comm)
    Zodac (Comm)
    Clawful (Comm)
    Buzz Off (Comm)
    Tri-Klops (Comm)
    Orko (Vintage)
    Kobra Khan (Vintage)
    Tung Lashor (Vintage)
    Laser Light Skeletor (Vintage)

Just wondering how much of a budget i will need to get the full vintage collection. I am not going to buy vintage toys which were reissued in commerative series as i am assuming they are the same unless forums members here tell me otherwise.

I do not own any Comm figures (though I might break down for the 2-packs instead of their vastly more expensive vintage brethren) but from what other Orgers have posted, they are definitely different. I heard that Mattel long ago destroyed the original molds so they had to cast new molds from vintage figures! This meant the Comm figures were slightly different. I know the facepaint on many of them is noticably different.

As for $$$ for a full vintage collection - do you mean figures alone or figures/vehicles/beasts/playsets/etc? I'm guessing $10,000 minimum for everything, maybe more. Others here would know better than I would.

In either case, best of luck!

it really depends on what you are buying

    AFA
    MOC
    Loose

Personally i've been collecting for 12 years and just vintage along AFA and i'm still about 20 pieces short i've already spent according to my spreadsheet.. $17,365.00 and with Stactions and MOTUC and 200X i've spent 28,000.00 and change... i'm thinking i could buy a nice car with that

but again i purchase AFA and MOC.. but 95% are AFA

now if you are buying loose it's much cheaper and if you are buying Leo figs or any international variant figs they typically have a higher cost value to them..

    All the best!

I'm not an expert on the Leo figs but yes they can be.. there are some collectors on these boards that collect only Leo figs.

I personally collect US and Canadian figs, and Canadian are very rare simply, they didn't make many of them

with motuc being hotter than vintage at the moment , i only would know about loose complete stuff, and i think if you shopped carefully you could get all figures vehicles and castles loose and 100 % complete and nice .for between $2000 and $3000.01 , the penny was so i could win the showcase showdown, i need that new car !!! and a vacation would be nice too , but you can have the dishwasher and stove

I guess going off of AGE's figures that is not including some of the more rare pieces being included like the WindRaider/He-Man Gift set, the three packs, the Battle for Eternia gift set, Megator/Tytus MIB....I know the giftset Battle for Eternia MIB with an AFA 75 clear grade sold for $7K in 2009 (I sold it) so that type of "complete" collection really drives the prices up. Asher99 on here has some of the more rare giftsets and those alone could purchase the MOC of all the figures (Windraider/Battle giftsets make me want those even more)

I don't consider the giftsets neccessary for a full set. They are the same toys, just packed differently. You're paying for the package.

They sure are cool though! I love the 3-packs the best, something about getting a full crew in one purchase! I just wish they were themed more - Trap Jaw, Clawful, MerMan in a Tidal Attack team (if you consider Trap Jaw a pirate) - something like that.

i have to agree with SD on that... i personally don't consider the 3 packs or 2 packs a completed set as they are just packaged differently. Ie
a whold Top Toys Set and a whole USA Set a Whole Canadian Set.. it goes on forever.. but if you do collect 3 packs it's just another great ave to go through.. i personally sold a 2 pack Skelly and screech for about 2K to a great collector on these boards, simply because i just don't care to collect the multipacks.
So however you wish to collect.. know this..... your wallet will HATE YOU

    Enjoy!!!
The collectors here are some of the nicest collectors you'll meet... includding Aeolus and SunDevil some great dudes right here !!!
