    Hey everyone!

This is a new feature I started on my site where I'm simply showing some toy or collectible from my collection and talking about it. Sometimes we get so caught up in current news, shipping costs, QC issues, and such, that we forget the simple joy our toys originally brought us. So far, I have installments and am hoping to make this weekly.

The first article is about my first action figure ever: http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/03/...nd-tell-1.html

The second is about a set of Legend of Zelda figures I received as a preorder exclusive in 1998: http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/03/...legend-of.html

Let me know what you think! Also, if you have something exceptionally cool in your collection or something that has a neat story or special memory attached to it, let me know! I'd love to feature other people's toy memories on the site.

Hey everyone! I just added a new installment of Show & Tell. This time I look at one of my favorite C.O.P.S. & Crooks action figures, Buttons McBoomBoom. Does a machine gun wielding, purple zoot suit wearing cyborg mobster sound interesting to you? If so, check out the link: http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/03/...cboomboom.html

If you have a really cool item in your collection, or an item that has great personal significance, let me know! I'd love to feature you on a future installment of Show & Tell!

Just put up Show & Tell #7, discussion and memories of Kenner's Aliens line. Today I'm looking at just the Aliens. :http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/04/...rs-aliens.html

I also just recently put up Show & Tell #6: S-Mart Ash in honor of the Evil Dead coming out last week. Check it out: http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/04/...-mart-ash.html

Also, I'm still looking for more cool toy related stories, memories, and unique items from your collections for the first community installment of Barbecue's Show & Tell. It's your chance to be a star!

Hawk version 2 is definitely one of my top 10 favorite Joes. I never did find him in the stores as a kid. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for someone else, I happened to find one buried in the sand at a playground. He must not have been there long because he was still in good shape and none of his screws were rusted. I got the accessory pack that had the brown version of his helmet and also geared him up with the brown Lifeline backpack and brown Lowlight rifle.

Items in my collection that mean a lot to me:

Vintage MOTU He-Man and Skeletor – He-Man and Skeletor were my very first action figures I ever had as a kid. They represent the turning point for me when I moved on from Tinker Toys and Little People and moved onto action figures.

GI*JOE Duke (Chinese version) – I only ever had the Tiger Force version of Duke as a kid but I wished he was in the original Duke’s colors. I didn’t know at the time that Tiger Force Duke’s parts were slightly different than the original Duke’s. The Chinese version of Duke uses the Tiger Force mold and is cast in the colors of the original Duke. That Chinese version of Duke is how I envisioned the original Duke might have been making him the Duke I always wanted.

Star Wars ROTJ Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker (blue saber/snap cape version) –
I only ever saw the black outfit Luke in the stores once as a kid and it was in a Toys R Us we stopped into while on vacation. My parents bought it for me but I had to wait until I brought home good grades to receive him. Having to wait for him so long made me appreciate him so much more. I had the rare blue saber/snap cape version.

Takara Ultra Magnus Reissue (Diaclone colors) – When Ultra Magnus first came out I got him but I also wanted an Optimus version too. When I first learned of Diaclone Ultra Magnus, I wanted it really bad but I couldn’t afford it. Then Takara released the resissue and I had to snatch one up. I display a New Years Convoy cab in the Diaclone colored Ultra Magnus trailer. I now have the Optimus version of Ultra Magnus’ trailer that I wanted when I was a kid.

Amazon exclusive Unicron – What more do I need to say? It’s Unicron with a new head sculpt and a new color scheme to match the animation model more closely. I though Unicron was so cool when I was a kid and I couldn’t understand why he never got released as a toy. (Now, I kind of know what happened but as a kid it didn’t makes sense to me for him not to exist in toy form.)

BBQ, do you have any more COPS figures? I always like seeing those. Also, if you have ML stuff, I'd love to see pics of ML and COPS figures together.

    I enjoyed your articles.

Thank you! I do have more C.O.P.S. figures- I'll try and put up some pictures of them next to some Marvel Legends (and maybe other modern 6inch lines) in the next week or so. I'll probably put them on my Flickr account but I'll try and sneak a pic in here, too! I can tell you that most C.O.P.S. figures come up to either the base of the neck or the cheekbones of an average Marvel Legends figure.

Faker II, that's a cool Hawk story. I actually still have one or two figures that I found at playgrounds and the neighborhood swimming pool. Always a great way to stock up on toys!

Just added a new, weekly installment of Show & Tell! This week's installment is about Star Wars action figures, my late grandfather, and a young boy's quest for identity. It also has a picture of Han Solo and a Tauntaun in a freezer!

    Hey everyone!!

Just added a new Show & Tell (#5). This time it's about an oft forgotten gem of a line from the mid 90's: Monster Force by Playmates Toys. http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/04/...ter-force.html

Also, while I've gotten some great stories from folks, I'd love to hear more. If you have a really cool story or unique item in your collection, PM me. I'm trying to work out a "community" installment of Show & Tell and would love to feature some He-Fans!

I have a vintage Dewback myself, it's my favorite Star Wars toy.

PS: Hoth on a budget made me laugh!
