Thanks Tallstar! I've read his blog post before. Glad Connie Schurr stuck up for herself there.

As jmb410s says, this guy did not have the complete run. He believed the strip only ran for a year which is inaccurate. The strip ran for over four years. You can see a script page above from the strip's final storyline, "The Last Survivors," and it says "Week Two Hundred Thirty-Six." This thing ran for quite a long time and continued on from MOTU into New Adventures.

Incidentally, it's neat that one of the strips he has on his Stripper's Guide blog features a vehicle that resembles The Collector from Filmation:

Artist Gerald Forton and some of his original artwork from the strips! Sorry photo quality is crummy.

As for news, Chris and Karen talked to Gerald and Connie about touching up some of the old strips. They want to find and partner with an interested publisher in order to make it happen. There was some confusion about publishing rights, though I'm fairly certain it'd fall under Mattel's earlier deal with Classic Media. If all else fails, they have some ideas about sharing these with fans online and we talked about some ways to do that. Hope it happens!

Nothing I can talk about yet.

I will say I'm very determined that everyone involved in the strips gets their well-deserved recognition. Also, ALL fans will get the opportunity to enjoy these stories. There is a lot of work involved, but it will happen.

Also, on a..er.. completely unrelated note, everyone should pre-order that cool art book from Dark Horse.

Meanwhile, here's Mosquitor making a Doctor Who reference (and it's not the only one in the strips)!

    EDIT:
Here's the "unrestored" version of the same strip, just to give folks an idea of what's going on. The above was a quickie fix, and isn't the "final" version.

Also, not all of the comic strips have been located as of yet, but there are some promising leads and I have a pretty good idea of where the rest can be tracked down.

Well, I have all newspaper strips released but the second part of the last arc (there were 14 arcs total !)

It would be a pleasure to help in case the authors are missing something...

Meanwhile, here the brazilian version of the strip Penny Dreadful posted above:

That's great Monteeg! Thanks for offering. I remember you grabbed a bunch from O Globo archives when they made them available, and I remember you saying that they ran most of the series. Do you know if the images you have are high resolution, 600 dpi? Large, high res images are required.

If the Globo strips are used for this project, I'd have to translate over from Portuguese to English and we'd have to re-letter all of the missing strips which would add a lot more work, so I'd like to snag the rest of the English-language ones first, if possible.

Thanks for the reply, Penny !

My newspaper strips archives are at he-man.org and the P&H Foundation disposal !
    Yes, I have about 1.415 b&w strips = complete 13 arcs and a half of the 14th...
Also, I have all original colored full-page sundays strips released in Brazil....unfortunately, O Globo discontinued the sundays colored pages in July or August 1989 (before the end of the series in February 1991)...anyway, I think I have at least 10 complete arcs !!!

No, the O Globo stories are not in high resolution...all the black & white strips I have are like the one I posted above !

If you need, I will do my best to translate the remaining strips...

Do you know if the Mattel had already allowed Forton and Weber to release the strips ?
