    Ray Harryhausen, 1920-2013

Ray Harryhausen, the giant special effects wizard of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts among others passed away today.
Today's incredible special effects are in part due to his making fantasy lifelike.
He inspired many film makers and the worlds they created.

*sniff* RIP you magnificent stop-motion magician. Without you I wouldn't love magical living skeletons as much as I do.

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Clash of the Titans were HUGE parts of my childhood.
Sad that he's gone, but nice that he lived a good long life.

He had a good run, and he gave us a lot of movies which still hold up today.

Without him we wouldn't have the special effects wizardy that's grown out of his legacy.

    Ray Harryhausen

There are few artists that are as influential to my artistic development as Ray Harryhausen. He is a grand master and a legend. The 1981 "Clash Of The Titans" is one of my all-time favorite movies. I used to watch his Sinbad films all the time on Sunday afternoons as a kid. His monsters were magic to me and I can't thank him enough for all of the inspiration he has given me over the years to create my own artwork and marvel at his. Rest in peace Ray, there will never be another.

Very sad to hear about this. Clash of the Titans is a favorite of mine, always has been. He had an enormous impact on the field of special effects.

This is very sad news indeed as I absolutely love his work and still enjoy a lot of the movies he worked on to this day, especially the Sinbad films and Jason and the Argonauts

Now saying that I have to admit one thing. When I first read the title my first thought was "He was still alive?"
