    On pins and needles...what did you do?

    After 9 months of looking for a house I think I finally found the one!!!!!!!!!!!

    We put an offer in today and we are just waiting to see if they counter. It is 10 below asking price, however the upstairs is retro 1960s with shag carpet in every room, including the bathroom and drop ceilings. Ick.

    For those of you who have bought a house before and have been waiting...what did you do to pass the time?

    I would love to respond, but this isn't The Tar Swamp.

    I just went on with my everyday life. It can sometimes take several days to get a response depending on what type of time-frame you gave them to respond. I think it took them 48 hours to counter when I purchased a house.
    In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
    Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
    Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
    In the bleak midwinter, long ago...
    ...a stable place sufficed.

    What can I give Him, poor as I am?
    If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
    If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
    Yet what can I give Him?....[I can] give my heart.

    I think we just watched movies and played video games. Went on with our daily lives. Try to keep your mind occupied with something else, and I am really excited for you! Good luck!!!

    Seriously, I like to keep myself completely on the edge and I love living inside the fire, so after we settled on our home and put our bid in I drove myself to the brink of insanity by spending every waking moment looking at other houses on line.

    But then that's just me...

    Best of luck to you, Divs.

    Well, we didnt get the house. They countered our offer with 7 thousand more, then we came in the middle and they countered at one thousand less I'm upset and annoyed that they didn't want to take our offer. They have lived in the house 35 years so they have a wicked emotional attachment to it. We offered them 40 thousand above assessment and they still wouldn't take it.

    Back to the drawing board!

    Sorry to hear that. I'm surprised they didn't take 40 over the assessed value.
