    Poor little thing

lol. Not sure. Never saw what it was. Probably wasn't a spider--they shun sunlight, so most likely a bee or a hornet. Parks are a dangerous place lol.

A likely cover story for your dropping out of sight for a few days, Phil. It's really interesting to me that all of these positive changes are taking place at MicroSoft shortly after I suggest to you that you be on the board of directors. What did they do, fly you out there on their Gulf Stream corporate jet?

They definitely aren't taking orders from me. I'm very disappointed by this news.

This generations console war has been quite entertaining so far. I love the new nickname, Xbox 180.

I think a lot of damage has already been done and it's interesting to see how the public opinion on Xbox180 vs PS4 evolves before they both launch. I've been an Xbox fan for two generations, but right now for the first time I'm actually concidering a PS4. The reasons being this DRM-mess and PS3 having better exclusives than Xbox360 (and 180s exclusives weren't all that thrilling either). I'm also seriously concidering a gaming PC to hook up with my tv. The next gen consoles are starting to be so expensive that I'd be able to get a good PC with the same investment. And PC is nowadays pretty often backwards compatible.

Now if they can make the '180' backwards compatible with all XBox discs (Original, & 360) and let you carry over your downloaded content, then maybe I'll actually buy it.

Xbox 180 is hilarious! I'm still sticking with calling it the Xbone, though. Still cracks me up that's how it's typed.

Yeah, and what's stupid about it is that something like that, minus the "family sharing" aspect, exists on PS3 now. If you have their PS+ membership, at times they have free, timed trials of full games (not just a demo with one level or a few characters or something) that you can try out before buying the game.

And what's stupid is that their excuse was that the DRM that they were planning was necessary for the family sharing plan.

Buy a $60 game; sell it to 10 people at $7 per person; get a free game and a $10 profit to boot.

If that doesn't defy basic economics, I don't know what does...

Ah well. I am tempted to pick up a Wii U now that a few more guns are coming out, but we're also approaching end of year, so I kinda need
to keep the three hundred bucks for gifts. Plus I have bills incoming. Stupid responsibility, and getting old! Gah!

Well I wasn't going to get one until they announced the Halo: Master Chief Collection! I'm a sucker for anything Halo and the fact that you can play Halo 1 and Halo 2 multiplayer online again (first time for Halo 1) in it's original form, well SOLD!

    I surrender!

For Alex's fifteenth birthday we bought him his long-coveted Xbox One, along with Titan Fall and Wolfenstein. He also lobbied Kim for a month previously to make a full turkey dinner for his birthday since "it's brutal to have to wait until Thanksgiving and Christmas for Mom's turkey and stuffing." Given that he's racked up straight A's for four years running, Kim also caved and we all feasted yesterday evening. Tonight Alex has extended late night hours. Camped out down in his 42" flatscreen, gaming chairs and sectional-equipped Man Cave, I don't think we'll be seeing him all evening, except for when he comes up to make a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and hot gravy sandwich on Kim's home-baked bread.

When I was his age I was perfectly happy with a baseball mitt and my Schwinn. Times have changed. On the other hand, if I ever got a B my parents would have taken out a front page ad in the Chicago Tribune declaring JACK GETS A B!!! So I guess he's earned the right to be indulged a bit.

    Thanks.

Working well Heidi, There's a lot of differences between those two controller, While 360 have a lot of ergonomic on the trigger and top buttons but One feels a little different and a little uncomfortable because I used to the control and expect it to be the same, the Dpad is marvelous, absolutely loving it and the layout and design is current and decent. :E. But if people want a relaxation on the trigger I would recommend Dualshock 4. that just my opinion about the trigger.

Heidi, Actually it's a console controller, but you can use any xbox one controller to connect to pc through micro usb cable, same with Dualshock 4. This is why I like the current generation of video game generation.

Well, I may end up actually getting an Xbox One later this year/early next year thanks in large part to the announcement of Rock Band 4 coming out for PS4 and Xbone

Apparently as part of the plan for RB4, they are trying to relicense all of the previous dlc songs from the previous games (or as many of them as possible) to use on the new systems. And apparently the plan is to allow anyone who previously bought them on their previous gen systems to be able to use them on the new systems with the new game without having to rebuy them.

The (understandable) catch, however, is that they cannot be transferred from Xbox 360 to PS4, or from PS3 to the Xbone. You can only go from 360 to Xbone or PS3 to PS4.

I have both the 360 and PS3 (Got the 360 shortly after launch in 2005, got the PS3 in late 2007). While I like both systems, over the course of time, I came to prefer the PS3 out of the two systems, buying most multi-platform games on it going forward once my preference shifted. But since I had already been buying my Guitar Hero and Rock Band games on 360, I continued buying the games and dlc because of instruments and in some cases dlc working for more than one game (I didn't want to rebuy everything on PS3).

This generation, I got the PS4 at launch, and was so upset over what MS was originally trying to do with the Xbox One (with the once a day check in DRM, etc) that it really turned me off to it. For the record, had it hypathetically been the other way around, I would have felt the same way about Sony.

But since MS did reverse course on it, over time I've lightened up on it to an extent. But I still had no plans to really rush out and buy an Xbone largely because I already have the PS4, and most games that I care about come out for both systems. There's very few exclusives on Xbox One that I care about (Sunset Overdrive is about the only one that looks interesting to me) .. up until now not enough to get me to buy one. Hindsight being what it is, I found owning both the 360 and PS3 redundant to an extent in the long run, but I won't get rid of either of them because it would mean rebuying a lot of content for one on the other.

But the Rock Band 4 announcement may be the thing that pushes me to getting one. While I only own a portion of the total dlc ever released for the Rock Band games, and I don't know off hand exactly how much I spent on it, I would estimate that rebuying it all on Playstation would likely cost somewhere around as much as just buying the Xbox One, and keeping all of my content together in that marketplace.

The one thing that I still don't like about the Xbox One is the inability to swap out the internal hard drive (without completely taking apart the system and voiding the warranty). I do like that it allows for the use of external hard drives to expand the data storage, but it would be nice to change out the internal hard drive in the event that it ever fails.

That said, I've heard some rumors of a pending redesign of the system with a new chip that let's it run cooler, therefore allowing for the unit to be smaller. My hope is that if the redesign happens, they allow for the internal hard drive to be easy swapped out. I think the inability to swap it out is kind of a "left over" relic of their original locked down DRM plans with the system, and while they were able to reverse a lot of that by launch with updates, patches, and so forth, they couldn't do much about the physical design of the system.

The irony is that if they were to make a model that allows for the hard drive to be swapped AND still support external hard drives, I could actually come to prefer the Xbone over the PS4. I really feel like given how big the game installs are for the games on these new systems, giving the consumer as much flexibility in upgrading the storage and maintaining their system is necessary. Right now one system allows the use of externals, the other allows the internal to be swapped and upgraded, but neither allows for both. The one that does will be the winner in my book.

Hey Heidi, to be honest with all ergonomic and build? I would think I prefer more on Dualshock 4, I have both of the controller but the DS4 is my friend's controller, I tell him that I might borrow this one at least for a month. But it's a bit of mind trip switching back from DS4 to Box again. Maybe Box controller isn't fitting with my hand or my style of playing.

    Hi Fendi,

my child also prefers the DS4 controller over Xbox One controller. He always comments how strange the Xbox-controller feels like after playing with PS4. I like both and think both are great in their own way. Both have features that I like (DS4: Built in mic, light, touchpad / X1: build, response, position of sticks and d-pad).

Well after having my Xbox One for a few weeks I have to say I still much prefer the PS4, both console and controller. Don't get me wrong I love my Xbox but the PS4 runs faster and more smoothly and the controller feels a lot more comfortable in my hands and less like a brick.

Yeah, I'm having that exact problem whenever I switch back to Xbox One controller, I'm going to have a lot of problem if he take back the controller from me. I'm playing this game called Outland and the most of control are the left or right button. My friend (The owner) told me that the Xbox's left and right button aren't comfortable enough for me or him, Because we were getting used to hold the controller like dualshock controller, So using Xbox One controller is way different than what I've been through.

Both of the controller are good in it's own ways or certain game that you are playing, but owning both of 'em are even better because of the choices.
