    Exosquad Appreciation

A thread for all who knew & loved this wonderfully hardcore military sci-fi series that pit the 22nd century Exofleet against the artificial species known as Neosapiens. Starring the voices of Robby Benson, Gary Chalk, Scott McNeil, Richard Newman, Lisa Ann Beley, Janyse Jaud, Michael Donovan, Teryl Rothery, Michael Benyaer, John Payne, Wally Marsh and many others (some of whom also participated in the Beast Wars and 1990/2002 He-Man series).

By all means, post your thoughts or memories of this gemstone. (seriously, I did look first to see if there were any threads for this series and I couldn't find any, I swear by the Eye of Thundera)
It's great being Lord of the Thundercats - especially hanging out with Cheetara - but the one draw back is that He-Man can still beat me up.

Yes, much like Batman TAS this was another gem from the '90s!

A great continuity-heavy show, with a grand story.

I have all the VHS tapes as well as the two laserdiscs and most of the toys.

Talk about a show that needsto get released on DVD (or even put back into syndication on TV)

I have 99% of the 2nd season on VHS but its in poor condition

Like BTAS it was one of the first really mature/dark cartoons of the 90's

    And Gargoyles, another 90s classic.

I ordered an illegal bootleg copy from ioffer.net, not the best quality but better than nothing. Lord knows the show deserves an official DVD release, and after, that, a big budget live action trilogy (we've got the technology, it's just a matter of getting the right cast, crew, director, etc).

I am not an expert but maybe these two discussions could be joined together? http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...light=exosquad

I bought the first season a couple years ago on DVD on the cheap at Big Lots. I enjoyed it a lot. I wished they'd release more episodes on DVD, but I'm guessing the first set didn't sell very well. Maybe, Mill Creek could get the rights to it. I definitely like the storylines and continuity of the show.

One of the true unsung gems of animation. The decision to take on race relations was a bold move, I love the Neosapiens and the premise. Excellent show!!

I wrote about this years ago when the DVD first came out: http://www.infinitehollywood.com/exo-squad-now-on-dvd/ before it became a bargain DVD. Unfortunately this never did take off on DVD. I assume, much like the show, it didn't get the same kind of following other shows did. Even though it was far and away superior to pretty much any cartoon of the era and before it, the sketchy syndication didn't allow it to build the following.

Shame too, SUCH a great show.

I still wanted to see what happened at the end.

    Oh such a great show!

To me this truly was the American version of Robotech (with all respects that it was it's own monster all together) that it was a deep, dark story driven animated show! It was GREAT! Still waiting on the remainder of this show on DVD...

sadly, the last season has never made it to a retail format. I have the only 2 laserdiscs, and the only DVD I know about. I hope that someone will make a Complete Series on DVD soon!
