    Casey Kasem has passed on

Radio personality and voice acting legend Casey Kasem has passed away. He was 82.

He is probably best remembered as the seemingly immortal voice of Shaggy from Scooby Doo, but also supplied voices for many other saturday morning cartoons like playing Robin on Superfriends and Cliffjumper on Transformers. He also had a few movie roles, including the original Ghostbusters.

A very funny and talented man.

Yeah it was going to be "Shaggy from Scooby Doo". I have no idea what happened when I was typing.

It's fixed now and no disrespected was intended, of course.

    Rest in peace.

I'm glad his suffering is finally over. It sounded like he was really hurting there towards the end.

    Rest in Peace Casey Kasem!

I enjoyed his Top 40 countdowns and of course, his distinct cartoon voices like Cliffjumper and Bluestreak!

At the end we saw the hatred of individuals. The fighting between his wife and his daughter was sickening. It was clear that it appeared neither had his best interest at heart. I am glad his suffering has ended at he is at rest.

Very sad, another connection to the golden era of animation on TV is gone. I'll always remember him as Robin (I kept forgetting he wasn't as young as the character). I keep forgetting he was Shaggy, but still he was one of the pillars of Hannah Barbera cartoons and I love how those made me feel as a kid.

Really? My impression was his daughter did have his best interest at heart and wanted not to prolong his suffering.

He made a giant contribution to entertainment, like few before or since. Few have had the range of performance that he did. RIP Mr. Kasem, and thanks for all the great Saturday mornings, both with cartoons and with music.

Casey had such a warm voice...I really enjoyed his Top 40 show and remember it airing into the '90s. I hope he enjoyed his work as much as we all did.

As a kid in the '80s I remember him as the sweater-wearing host of America's Top 10.

Sadly I can say that I only remember him for his voice, but MAN the guy did so much. RIP and all that - yours is a voice I'll never get out of my head (and I'll never be able to emulate!).

I'll remember him both as an actor and as a Top 40 host. I even watched The Adventures of Batman DVD set the day he passed. RIP, my good man.

R.I.P. Caey Kasem, you will be missed and I even did a rememberance for him on my blog, which I never do because I was so saddened by his death.
We need a Snake Teela and Critta in MOTUC! The snakemen and Space mutants are the only factions without a girl in them!
