just to recall what has been said (not exactly as it was cuz i'm to lousy to browse through) many people emailed wonder bread company concerning the he-man toy in question. They replyed somehting like "thank you for your contact, but we no longer have the he-man promotion you are looking for. ciao"

it was like a standard mail message, but they were assuming they had the he-man toy.

Later on a guy contacted some inside personal and showed them the figure, and an old timer said, "haa i remember this guy, we used to call him, the wonder bread he-man"

Thing is, WB he-man has become such a hype that no one will want to believe where it came from because its just cool like that. I'm sure that if mattel of wonder bread company came to the spotlight specially to announce that they had produced the toy, everyone one would be like, "yeah right!".

There is no way this is going to be solved, as you see, people on this thread said they did remmeber going into shops getting the cupon as they bought 2 or 3 figures and it would come in the mail, or even, the inside man stating, "yes i remember this, this is wb he-man" is not a valid source. No ones believes in anyone concerning WB he-man, "you just want to be FOOLED"® (The Prestige)

I'm sure some kind of research has been done before and as you said, it's the age-old question. Who knows? When i was 5 I didn't give a hoot where it came from, as long as it was MOTU.

Unfortunately no. The last time I was in contact with the Mattel employee who has plans about the WB He-Man Toy Fare article was right before the San Diego Comic Convention. He was really involved in the convention so he didn't have much time to commit to anything else. Don't worry though, I'll keep bugging him about it!! I just think it would be so cool to see a published article summarizing what we have all have tossed around on this thread.

Funny you should say that Trev-or It's going to be the topic of one of my first entries on my upcoming Masters blog...
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

The other day I received an e-mail from a Mattel employee wanting to put together a group of collectors called the 'Mattel Toy Geek Council' to "discuss product and possibilities." He said that he received a file with my information in it regarding the He-Man/Wonderbread offer when he was assigned to work on collector product.
The coolest part though is that he said that in the near future he is planning on putting out a story in Toy Fare about the 'Wonderbread/He-Man offer' and said he could probably use some help . He wondered what types of MOTU toys I would be interested in, "Articulated versions of NECA statues? A new scale? New figures based on characters from the 2002 show? (Count Marzzo, King Grayskull ect…?). What would you like to see if we could keep making Masters product?" So definitely let me know if you guys have any cool ideas you want to get out there.
Wowsers. Now that I'm reading this all over again, this all seems very much like a precursor to the surveys/everything that happened at the conventions! Seems like Mattel has been planning for awhile.

thats a horrible way for him to put the story together. being willing to take a second hand stories which is what follow this fig the most. as anyone can read from the org.s longest running thread the figure still hasnt revealed its true self nor will that happen anytime soon. what is known is that it wasnt a part of wonderbread at all. that deal only consisted of the card set.

I let Zach know to be weary of stories, which I'm sure he already is.
My biggest concern is with people looking to seed ideas to benefit their wallet.
There's a lot of money to be made for sellers/scalpers by continuing to promote the myth this is a rare mail-away figure from Wonder Bread. Be weary of such claims.

How many threads does it take to unwrap the mystery surrounding the "Wonder Bread" He-Man?

    1..?
    2..?
    3..?

    The world may never know.

    Personally, I just don't give a darn!

Jeez... Nice how Oat answered your attempts to help him there, huh MM? I think a major requirement for getting a job at the Wizard empire is being snarky.

I don't think he meant it that way.
Thus is the callous nature of the internet. you have to choose your words carefully and be sure to include lots of smileys to be certain.

Oh Yes, the double edged sword that is the internet. I have grown fond of using the smilies too.

    Lets solve this one!

    Hey folks,

ToyGuru from Mattel here. Here's the deal. I've been working with Mr. Oat from Toy Fare and our own one and only Val to try and actually figure this one out and publish the results in an upcoming Toy Fare issue. Here is how you all can help be part of MOTU history.

This toy urban legend has been around for a few years. I've been through the Mattel archives and crawled around under everyon'e desks and am still having trouble finding any offical documents at Mattel that backs this offer up. Was it a hoax or was it a real offer?

Does anyone out there actually remember participating in this mail-a-way? We'd like to either solve this mystery or reveal it for once and all. Any thoughts out their in He-Man land? If anyone has documented proof let me know by post in this thread. Lets figure this one out already.

Good luck, this figure came with the magic of amnesia and we all seem to have it here at the org, cause no one remembers were it came from. Me I can swear up and down it was a mail away but others disagree. But no one can remember for sure. So again, GOOD JOURNEY!
